Hello! I'm auditioning for the Wedding Singer at my school and I was wondering if anyone had any good suggestions for an audition song, or shows I should look at for audition songs? I'm going for the roles of either Julia, Holly, or ensemble. Thank you so much for the help!

Also, I really LOVE singing oscure/unknown/lesser-know songs for my auditions, but I'm open to anything!

Since 'The Weddng Singer' is set in the 1980's, with a pop/rock score that has that stylistic feel to it, I'd recommend maybe looking into songs from similarly styled shows: 'Footloose,' 'Fame,' etc...or even songs from popular 80's musically themed movies such as 'Flashdance' or maybe even 'Xanadu.'
Since this is a school show you're auditioning for, you could probably pull off music like that and get away with it.
To be honest, songs like 'What A Feeling,' 'Let's Hear It for the Boy,' and 'Holding Out for a Hero' all have some impressive vocal moments that could show off a strong belt and some sustained notes-if that's your strength. Just be sure that you're so committed that it doesn't come across as bad karaoke. Lol.
:)
That's just my two cents.

Thanks! My school just did footloose, so I'd rather not touch on that one. And our songs have to be from a stage musical, so Flashdance wouldn't work either. But Fame is a great suggestion, I'll be sure to take a look! :)

"Let's Play a Love Scene" from Fame would work
