Wedding Song

Hey,

So I just got word that I am going to be singing in a wedding in about two weeks. My friend was originally supposed to do the job (it's for someone she used to work with) but is now going to NY to visit her boyfriend over the long weekend. The people who's wedding it is have no idea what they want me to sing...and neither do I! One of my other friends is already going to be singing "ave maria", and the song they want me to sing needs to be contemporary.

If anyone has any suggestions let me know!

Check with the religious venue that you will be singing at. They may have limits as to what you can sing. I sang at a friends wedding and they gave me a list of the songs that they would allow. We ended up singing a song titled "I Will Follow You". Very traditional, but we turned it into a gorgeous duet.

It is in a church, however all they said was "make sure it's something appropriate" they really didn't specify :)

We tried to offer "One Hand One Heart". The church said no because the characters singing the song were not married. Check with the powers that be first.

i only sang at one wedding ... THE WEDDING SONG. of course the day of, i was as hoarse as could be. so i always say i croaked at their wedding.

thanks :). It's just so spur of the moment I'm used to a little more structure I guess lol. I'm super excited though!
