My Boyfriend got me a cat this week. My cat (of 19 years!) died in February and I'd been kind of avoiding getting a new one. So he went to the shelter and this cat totally picked him. It grabbed him as he went by and pretty much demanded to go home with him. So he took it home.
On the way home, he thought about naming it Fiyero, since he's Wicked obsessed and it was a year ago this week we went to NYC to see it. I must admit, I wasn't thrilled with the name.
But-- here is the weird part. The cat truly is "Dancing Through Life!" Whenever the cat stands still, he dances. He lifts one foot, then puts it down and lift the other. He steps to one side, then the other. He never stands still. He dances all the time. It's pretty much the most adorable thing.
So Fiyero he is.
Has anyone ever had a cat who dances?
aww! that's so cute! i demand pictures of fiyero!

A friend of mine has a hamster named Elphie. I'm sure if I asked the ham-witch, he'd say hi.

That's great, Joe! Welcome to Fiyero from our (my love, spouse, partner, best bud Dave and my) cats, Bonnie, Puca, Aisling and Ceili! (And dog Chulo). Interesting about Fiyero's dancing. Sounds adorable! You need a picture of him! Our Ceili (which for those who don't know is an Irish dance session/party. If you do know,I don't mean to insult!) hops and twirls and is rarely still, too. Her feet go all the time.(And she's helping me post this.) Our cat Bonnie is simply referred to as "the flying monkey." You can imagine.
Sympathies on losing your 19 year old cat. We had one who made it that long, too. Heartbreaking when they go.
Congrats, Joe... pictures are a necessity... Our cat Mushu says welcome!!!

Yes, we took some pictures but I'm hoping we get some better shots now that he's relaxed and settled in. He still sort of freaks out if we leave him alone and tends to follow my boyfriend around the house, but he is pretty adorable, so I can't blame Fiyero for wanting to be around him. It was hard to leave them all curled up in bed this morning when I had to leave for work!
Thanks for all the kind words from the assorted Pets of BWW! And Elphie-pug is I think the cutest name! We can't have dogs where we live, but we did go to Pug Party 2005 (Theme: Desperate HousePugs) and looked at and pet the hundreds of pugs!
