Okay, just finished watching the season premiere. What was going on w/the filming and the music? That was new. It took me a while to get used to it.
Oh and (SPOILER AHEAD) why did Bartlett tell Leo to go ahead with the bombing when the Israelis landed? Did I misunderstand? I'm confused...
And the Donna and Josh scenes--lovely.

Oh, so now West Wing is blowing up Israelis? Lovely. I knew I had good reasons to stop watching that show...

Yeah, don't leap to conclusions, because I think I'm really confused...wait until someone else explains...
He was trying to do some kind of peace summit and spent the first 45 minutes yelling at Leo (who wanted him to use military force) and then all of a sudden told him to go ahead... It was confusing, and my dad doesn't watch the show until an hour after I do (different time zones) and he's the one who usually explains it to his poor science-minded daughter.

He said to go ahead and bomb the terrorist training camp in Syria, but NOT the site in Iran, since they didn't have absolute proof of a connection betwen Iran and the terrotists.
Unlike our real president...
By the way, the WB has moved the new series JACK AND BOBBY, produced by former West Wing producer/director Thomas Schlamme (and starring his wife Christine Lahti)to Wednesday nights at 9 (8 central) - opposite West Wing!

Okay, but then why was he holding the peace summit, and why had he been fighting Leo all day about it?
Broadway Legend Joined: 2/20/04
Leo (and everyone else) wants to just bomb Palestinian sites, even if civilians are killed. Like after 9/11 when everyone just wanted to kill Arabs.
SPOILER ALERT...
It looks as if all the stress is getting to Leo... Hope he doesn't have a heart attack or something...
Who would be the next Chief of Staff? Maybe someone who looks good in a Donna Karan gown...
Jon you and I are on the same page on that one!CJ would be awesome
Wonder if Leo is going to slide off the wagon and start drinking again...
And what will the Josh/Donna dynamic be once she is better? And ever though she awakened after surgery, it's still not clear to me that she is going to be 100% back to normal...
Coming out of anesthesiais a long process. She just seemed groggy to me.There will be some rehab work.

Surgery? What happened there?
(Dammit, still curious, and I haven't watched since Season 3.)
I'm lost. I missed quite a few West Wings towards the end of the season and forgot it was on last night. What happened to Donna?
Our fingerprints don't fade from the lives we touch.

Tinfoil...The Terrorizing Terminator
She was injured in a car bombing on a fact-finding mission to the Mideast. Fitzwallace was killed in the same explosion. She shot a pulmonary embolism and underwent emergency surgery.
please, it's john wells. donna will be pregnant with josh's baby by season's end. leo's gonna stroke out and be replaced by who? some friend from jed's past who has yet to arrive?
btw, i was on the phone weeping over the yankees ineptitude while jed was explaining to leo why he was being kept out of the room for that mtg before they left for camp david. can someone tell me what the lecture was from jed?
just to put this in perspective too, they should be sure to wait until all the parties were at the table before bombing so they could lock the door a la maddy albright's famous sprint to bar the door from a fleeing yassir.
it's interesting that almost exactly a year ago (10/16/03), a us diplomatic convoy headed into gaza to interview candidates for fullbright scholarships was blown up resulting in the deaths of three americans. granted, they weren't congressmen and a former head of the jcos.
SPOILER
Yes, I saw the coming attractions and it looks like there are bad things in the wings for Leo...too much stress.
I am anxious to see what they do with Alda and others joining the cast and since they have remained faithful to the 4 yrs in the White House followed by the reelection, what will they do at the end of this year when Bartlett's term is up? Elect Alda and keep going?
Hmmm

Alda is the Republican nominee, Jimmy Smits is the Democrat. Whoever ges elected would have a totally new staff/cast of actors.
The series should just end after eight years, with the last episode having everyone pack up their stuff and leave as the new administration moves in.

That would be really sad Jon...but it could be very powerful too.
