Annually, I see the Oscars as the final bit of dirt that we throw on top of the previous year. We're finally burying 2005 tonight and now it is time to reflect.
I'd have to say that August 2005 (Sans Katrina) was probably the greatest time that I had all year. August, usually, is one of my favorite times of the year simply because it is the "Looking-Forward-To-Everything" month. You're looking forward to the fall, you're looking forward to the excellent fall movies, you're looking forward to the weather getting cooler (If you live in Houston...), and you're looking forward to the holidays. However, this August was even more awesome than usual. Mostly because of the brilliant final episodes of Six Feet Under, and the unusually great August movies (Broken Flowers, 40-Year-Old Virgin, Constant Gardener, etc....).
