Mine was WHEN YOU BELIEVE from Prince of Egypt. Sucked.
But at least it wasn't Vitamin C's song.
Ours is GOING to be Dare You to Move by Switchfoot.
The guy who chooses them is on crack.
Seals and Croft's "We May (or will- can't remember) Never Pass this Way Again". Do you all even know who they are? They sang "Summer Breeze". WAAAAAY back in the day! mom
"Bring on Tomorrow" from FAME. My friend arranged it to one of the versions on a cast recording. We had the sweet a capella part in it.
Cheers,

i'm only in high school (jr) so no graduation song for that yet but when i graduated from middle school my school was very "original" & chorus which i was in sang "graduation". but my brother's graduation from elementary school a few years ago was more original, they sang "seasons of love".
We didn't have a song per se, but my voice teacher sang a medley of showtunes (arts high schools are so great).
I realized last week, though, that the songs that defined my senior year (I graduated in '06) were I'm in Love With a Stripper and It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp.

I went to a small high school where you know everybody. So we did the theme song to Cheers. We changed some of the the lyrics to be more about school. It was fun.
We sing a great up tempo choral arrangement of Bridge over Troubled Water every year.
Last year the senior class (I'm in HS too) had 3 students in it pass away and it was great because we sang a lot of somber thing and a lot of people gave speeches on those students and then Bridge Over Troubled Water just perked it up!!!
100 Years by Five For Fighting. So depressing, yet no one cried. We all wanted to get out of there as fast as we could.
How cheesy is this: Mine was "Hero" by Mariah Carey. Yikes.
"Bittersweet Symphony" by The Verve. I'm not sure that the lyrics necessarily went too well with the idea...but it was nice.

Every year our top choir does the same song for graduation. We do Bridge over troubled waters. It is a very fun song. it has been a tradition to do the song and It gives a senior girl and guy a solo. We have so much fun with it ever year.

"Forever Young" by Bob Dylan with the junior choir singing it accompanied by a scratch rhythm section and a string quartet. Lovely arrangement. I've never cried so hard.

Haven't had mine yet, but I'd love to use 'Come so far (got so far to go)' from Hairspray.
Ours was something by Il Divo (the name completely escapes me). The band played a medley from Wicked.
Ours is this year and will be For Good from Wicked
Mine was Aerosmith's "I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" GAG MEEEEE
