Im going to be a senior in high school, which means I have to start applying for colleges and figuring out what I'm going to do with the rest of my life. The only thing I have figured out now is that I want to work in musical theatre, as an actress and be in New York. I have no idea if I want to go to college, or if I want to just jump in and swim for it. I was hopping for some advice.

Okay, here's my advice...
Get some post-secondary education. College or university, doesn't matter. As much as you hear stories of people making it big just by going to New York and sitting at a coffee shop, it's highly unlikely that you'll get work that way. You need some solid training, so look into an intense acting/musical theatre program.

college college college.
I talked to Micheal Cerveris about it (don't ask) and he said that the one thing that hes so happy that he did was go to college before he hit New York.
Michael is full of great preformance advice. My last time at the stagedoor, a girl asked for advice and this is what he said to her; "If you aspire to be on broadway, and have all these big goals, you will always be comparing yourself to people who are there or closer to there than you are. Want to do things that make you proud and make you learn." It is such brilliant insight. Off topic, but brilliant.
