What do you call this thing?
#1What do you call this thing?
Posted: 10/11/08 at 6:10pmHello, wise forumers. I've been looking on the Bed Bath & Beyond and Target websites looking for a kitchen appliance. It's hard to locate it without knowing what it's called. It's like a big thermos-like thing that heats water to boiling and keeps it hot, with a big button at the top that dispenses water out of a spout. Does anyone know what the name of such an appliance would be? Thank ye kindly.

No. No. No. There are airpots that "heats water to boiling and keeps it hot, with a big button at the top that dispenses water out of a spout."
One is the Le Chef LC5300 5 Qt. Electric Hot Water Air Pot, 5 quart deluxe Hotpot.
There are also smaller sizes.
Try Amazon.com
p.s. They are sold at Jewish gift shops and book stores, as they are convenient for Sabbath use. [Water is brought to a boil before the Sabbath and stays hot and available throughout the day.]

There are several other brands, too. But the description was for like a big thermos-like thing, which better fits the 5 quart Le Chef model.
p.s. Which has ten times the capacity of the one-pint HotShot.
