As I listen to the Health Care Summit I can't stop wondering: How is this all going to end. What do you think?
A) The President will sign a law that is assembled without Republican help.
B) At least some Republicans will join in to craft a compromise bill.
c) Nothing will come of it. There will be no Health Care reform before the 2010 election.
d) Other....

e) nancy pelosi will morph into a giant praying mantis and eat all them men who oppose her desires and declare herself queen of all earth. the military will have to wipe out the capitol to stop her evil plot, unfortunately wiping out the entire elected leadership of the u.s. david petraeus will be forced to assume control of the country and reconstitute the government and issue in a new era of tolerance and hope.
It's going to be a or b. Mostly likely a.

e) The US will realize that Obama is an empty suit. He is a one issue POTUS and can't get that one issue passed with a majority in both houses. Rahm Emmanuel will give the word and Obama will try to push through healthcare with an Executive Order. There will be an uprising and Obama will flee the country. News cameras will film him pushing Michelle and the chidren out of the way so that he can get on the helicopter first, but only Fox News will broadcast it. New York City Opera will produce a production about his life which will only be attended by residents of Manhattan's Upper West Side.

d) Other -- an unholy mishmash of the very worst of all the possible options that Obama will champion as being the greatest breakthrough in the history of bipartisan goodness.
or---
d) Other -- having finally shown that bipartisanship is a pathetic fantasy, Obama at long last unites his party in both houses of Congress to keep all of his campaign promises.
or---
d) Other -- Obama finally just confirms what has been rather painfully evident for a while now, by simply switching to the Republican Party. He fires Joe Biden and hires Meghan McCain as his Vice President.
i'll take that last one as long as she agrees to put the "vice" back in vice-president...topless.

Well yeah, it isn't like she's much use for anything else.
Except of course, she is for marriage equality.

Uh huh. Sure she is.
Sure she is.
Oh right. I forgot it's just a ruse.

"I forgot it's just a ruse."
Evidently, but you're so gullible on these issues.
Look, I may be wrong. Maybe she really does honestly actually believe in marriage equality. But, until she does more than use the topic as a ticket to get on THE VIEW, I'm going to remain skeptical, given her ongoing political affiliation.
Playing the devil's devil's advocate - what do you expect her to do except speak out, appear on the No On Hate ads, and support gay rights repeatedly and loudly?

If Megan McCain is able to influence the Republican party to become Pro-Gay Marriage (or even to APPEAR INSUFFICIENTLY ANTI-Gay marriage) I think that would be enough to drive the Tea Party into becoming a third party.
Needless to say I AM ALL FOR THAT!

I'd expect her to appear at some gay rights rallies, lead a few gay pride parades, and maybe even start a foundation with some of her mother's money to promote marriage equality and/or gay rights. She could even see about getting marriage equality in her home state.
Has she done any of that yet? Did she even appear at the rally last October? I may be wrong here, was that before or after her coming out in favor of marriage equality.
Of course, I'm all for Meghan McCain influencing the Republican Fourth Reich to become or even vaguely appear etc. Let's just not hold our breaths for her to have any real long lasting or even evident effect in that regard. She's a handy little symbol so that the Repubs can pretend to a more diverse membership than aged Christian bigot psycopaths.
You must be one HELL of a backseat driver, Roscoe.
I just hope YOU do a sliver of all you demand of others to prove to you who they are.

We can't all be the trusting dewy eyed gullible soul you are, Jerby. Some of us have standards.
But if you choose to take Meghan McCain at her word, god bless. God love you, and keep you from disappointment.
No, really. Such innocence is deeply touching. I'm sure that Our Sainted President is counting on the continued support of folks just like you.
Deflections and condescensions. That's all you own.

Ho hum. You're in a glass house in that regard, too, dear boy.
Take the last word, jerbster. It is yours.
Unicorns and pretty rainbows.
Roscoe,
She supports the Trevor Project, speaks out for gay rights issues, and who knows, maybe she will be in a gay pride parade.
But I have a feeling nothing she would do would satisfy you.

She'll certainly have to do a lot more than she has. She seems to have made a nice little start, certainly enough to satisfy the easily satsified. Time will tell.
So, she has to be a crusader on your terms to prove that she supports gay rights.
I hate to tell you, some gay men and women I know do not do 1/2 of the things you expect from her. I guess they don't want equal rights either.

That's me, Mr. High Standards.
Looks like we're not going to agree on this topic. All the best.
