Ooh, there's a Harry Potter tour?
...
What?
I have a friend in the entertainment industry (no names), and his kid's prep school tuition is as much as what my college tuition was, and I went to one of the most expensive colleges in the country. Outrageous!
Oh come on, m.e.f! Don't be cruel - who is it? Michael J. Fox? Sting? Tom Hanks? Dave Coulier?
A famous rapper's son goes to my camp. He was in the musical theater department and my friends were friends with him.
Nothing worse than a celeb tease.
Much as I luv ya, Rath, I'll never tell...
*pouts*
It's Maureen's love child with Louise Pitre.
It's not nice to play with Rath.

Ooh, let's play "really distant celebrity connections!"
My parents' friends' child went to the same nursery school as the son of an NBA star. I also went to high school with the son of a former NBA player, though not a star one.
And no, it didn't particularly matter in either case.

i know nothing
Rath, one day you and McG will have adopted a Chinese girl, and will send her to a top prep school that costs as much as my college education.
Okay - I lived down the street from and graduated with the brother of the famous goalie from the 1980 championship Olympic hockey team.
I go to Bennington College, and as a 1st year, met many many interesting and wonderful new friends. Well, about halfway through the year, I was talking to one of my friends and the subject of parents came up. He revealed to me being the son of an actor. I was taken aback, but then I realized that it didn't change anything about him.
m.e.f. - just caught that post about our Chinese daughter - I don't want kids, and I think my McG is just as happy with her little dogs. We'd prefer all the attention to be lavished on us - some adorable child would take the focus away...
Bud- I'm applying to Bennington, how do you like it?
I go to a small private school, and we have a rapper's daughter here. When not in a big group she is perfectly fine (and you should see her stage presence, just as an ensemble member) but the minute she's with her girl group it's all about being pompous, even to the point of lying about giving the school (much needed) money for a (much needed) new bus.

Mythus, that comment was hilarious!
Urban Legend was that Pierce Brosnan's son went to my college while I was there. The kid was a pseudo celebrity, but I never believed it. Hell, I'm not even sure he has a son.

Reminds me of Six Degrees of Separation.
But it's going to be VERY weird going to school with this kid.
You think that's weird -- the young founder of charity organization "Free The Children" goes to my university. He started the organization when he was 12; he's been on Oprah, met Mandela and the Dalai Lama, etc. He's now 21 and has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize three times. He is majoring in Peace & Conflict studies here. Imagine being in the same class as a three-time Nobel Peace Prize nominee!
Imagine what the prof thinks.

A boy who was involved in a prominent freedom of speech case goes to my Constitutional Law class. Mostly it annoys me because he keeps eating fruit during class.
Wow, BW - now there's a case for special treatment.
Mel Gibson's son goes to my best friend's college...he lives off campus though...I've heard he's an O.K. guy.
I went to school with a kid who then left OUR school and now goes to some fancy school up north and supposedly is dating Bruce Willis' daughter. Intriguing
