Most of my Republican and conservative friends seem to think this way and I've known a few people who were very liberal Democrats in their youth but gradually became more Republican as time went on. I'd like to think of myself as more in the middle but slightly more to the left. I know there are many liberals on this board (Most of whom already are making money and paying taxes) so I was just wondering what your thoughts were on this. As I begin to enter the unfriendly job market, will this fate befall me? 99% of the threads I start on this site are somewhat bulls*** and me having fun but this one, for once, is me being somewhat serious.

Only if you're a heartless bastard who's worried what adults do in the privacy of their bedrooms but doesn't give a damn about kids starving in the streets.
My best friend of over twenty years is a gay Republican. I will never understand it. We just don't talk politics.
why do you talk to him at all?

Because Democrats love & forgive.
When I bought my first apartment in NYC in 1988 I had on a Dukakis button at the closing. Once it was all done, my lawyer turned to me and asked, now that I was land owner was I going to vote republican?
I told him hell would freeze over and I still wouldn't do that.
Log Cabin Republicans are idiots.
