re: Where in the World is everybody from?

I have never seen a German musical, but I was sent the song "Gold von den Sternen", and it must have some of the dumbest lyrics I have ever heard...

Nazis!!!

re: Where in the World is everybody from?

I'm from boring old dull America. My father's parents were from Russia. That's the best I can do.

I feel like singing "It's a Small World" now!

*winces at the thought*

re: Where in the World is everybody from?

I KNEW IT!!! *g*

But now... LETS SING!!!!

Diese Welt is fein, so fein
Und in dieser Welt, da wollen wir Brũder sein!

*throwsflowers*

re: Where in the World is everybody from?

No, you have to sing the English verse! Or maybe the Russian... if there is one.

re: Where in the World is everybody from?

Thanks, YessicaB!

*trips over tongue & crosses eyes*

I was born in New York City, but I was raised (from the age of 4) in Kansas. I moved back to NYC for a few years, and now I live in Los Angeles.

Lots of culture shock as you can imagine.

EDIT: I have done a bit of "world travelling" though which has really opened my eyes to what's out there! I've never been to Germany (yet), but I've always wanted to go! Someday soon, perhaps.

My partner worked for a fancy cruise line, so we were able to take advantage of it and travel abroad several times. So far, we've been to England, Ireland, Scotland, France, Russia, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Italy, Sicily, Croatia, Turkey, Malta and Greece.

re: Where in the World is everybody from?

I have been to NYC (obviously), Kansas (close to Kansas City for almost 6 weeks one summer) and LA.

How did you like England? I will be moving to London in less than a month, but haven't been anywhere in Great Britain before.. I'm pretty excited...

re: Where in the World is everybody from?

You didn't ask me, but I LOVE London! It's one of my favourite cities.
I envy you...

re: Where in the World is everybody from?

Well don't envy me too soon...lol. With the rent being absolutely astronomical over there I'll be leaving in a room no bigger than a shoebox...
I just applied for THE perfect dayjob though. It's working in a bookshop which sells any kind of theatre related literature, scripts, libretti, etc... Keep your fingers crossed for me that I'll hear back from them...

re: Where in the World is everybody from?

Wow, sounds exciting (and I don't mean the shoebox thing *g*)!
*crossesfingers*

Why are you moving to London?

re: Where in the World is everybody from?

Born and raised in NJ, went to college in NY, then moved to LA and stayed there. =) Heritage-wise, I'm Italian, on both my mother's and father's sides.

I've been lucky enough to travel to some nice places throughout the world, but never Germany... My husband lived in Munich for two years though, and LOVED it.

Nice.
By the way I've been meaning to tell you how much I love the picture of you in your avatar...

re: Where in the World is everybody from?

Yeah, great avatar!
If you invite me to Disney World, I'll invite you to Germany! *g*

re: Where in the World is everybody from?

Hey, thanks, YessicaB! Best of luck to you on your move, and I hope you get that great day-job! =)

GuyfromGermany: Actually, I work at DisneyLAND...and you're welcome to come visit anytime. re: Where in the World is everybody from? (Truthfully, if anyone's going to be at D-land this summer, let me know...I'll be playing the Evil Queen and/or the Hag Monday through Friday through early September.)

re: Where in the World is everybody from?

Must be fun having all those little kids loathe you...

You should see if they'd let you work in Disneyland Paris for a few month. That way you could travel all over Europe...

re: Where in the World is everybody from?

That's great... let's sing german folk songs together!

It has some advantages to be german:
NO ameriacan can imagine what great fun Franz LIebkind and his songs are to us! It's just so funny!

@ all germans: I'll open the thread - but how do we wanna call it?
I'm the german Ethel Merman, don't you know... ;-)

Born and bred in Manhattan.
re: Where in the World is everybody from?
My family come from Translvania, BUT I don't like blood.
In fact Inishmore made me want to pass out.
