Just had to add some Philly fun ... I'm going to see the Peter Nero and the Philly Pops Christmas Concert with special guest Ann Hampton Callaway at the Kimmel Center on Saturday. Tonight is a 7 course Australian wine tasting dinner in New Hope.
A grand singing of the Messiah! The sound must be glorious, brdlwyr!
Cookie, goody!

Tonight I have grade school Christmas show - all three are singing. C7 has a part of a poem. The music director should be shot for the schlock she throws up on the stage, but the kids will be cute.
SOMMS - sounds great. We are having an Austrialian sparkling Shiraz on Saturday. Anyone hear of sparkling red?
One of Korbel's best is a sparkling red! It is VERY tasty! I believe they only sell it in Calif. however.

We also have Laurnet Perrier and another bottle.
What do you recommend for about $10-14 for a party. Veuve, etc., is out of the price range and tastes of the riff raff that might show up.
I might just see if I can find Gloria Ferrar on sale.
I wish I had some 'sparkling ' wine or Champagne right now!
Look for a Prosecco. It's dry and a little sweet, but great for a party, especially if you need lots of it...

Oh, Cookie, you say the sweetest things about Addy.
Good morning luv!
She goes to my head.
Like the bubbles in a glass of Champagne.

A Prosecco is a great "party" sparkler. So is a Spanish Cava, although those are getting more and more pricy.
Non-Champagne-region French sparklers are also good buys, like a
Blanquette de Limoux. For $12-15 you can also find a Cremant d'Alsace, a Cremant de Loire or a Cremant de Bordeaux. There are also good sparklers from the Saumur region. All of them generally are less expensive than sparklers from Champagne.
I tend to avoid the mass-produced California sparklers but I love some of the Californa premiums, especially Schramsberg, but their least expensive sparkler is their Mirabelle at about $20.
Party? Did I hear a party?
The NYTimes had a great roundup of Champagnes under $30 yesterday...
I'm ready to pop a cork! Good morning Miss Addy!

I'm about to! It's a Friday. The weather (in NYC) is icky. I think popping a cork is the perfect thing to do.
Good morning, handsome!
And, good morning to all my friends on BWW.
Morning Addy...*holds out glass*..a little Veuve would do nicely right now.
Good morning, Boobs!
My thougts, exactly!
*pours*

Nice way to start the day! We should do this more often.
I agree...now I think we should have another glass at Noon...and then polish off the bottle at the end of the day...I mean the 2nd bottle.
