Midterms are yucky. Very yucky.
C'est la vie.
I cannot wait for this week and weekend to be over! Next week I can start anew.

Thanks. I might need all the luck. I'm done with all except for a paper on Greek Art History due Friday.
So I might not be posting much Thursday night.

I'll make sure you don't!
Greek Art History? What a GREAT topic!

Posted: 11/1/05 at 1:26pmIt's actually interesting enough, but when you get to such specific details, I must say I lose a bit of interest.

Good afternoon Addy and all...
BTW...where's Undi...I wanted to hear more about her bathroom encounter with Mister Wilson. (OOOOH, doesn't that sound so terribly illicit!)

I want a castle...
There is a Hapsburg castle in the tiny village in Switzerland where one of my family lines originates.
And another line has a castle in Ireland.
Do you think they'd let a cousin spend some time there???

They should!
I have a couple of 'castles' in my family ancestry. Primarily in Scotland. One is actually known as *my last name* House, and the other is Floors Castle... The Duke of Roxburghe is a Clan member and that's the Clan house.
I went to visit both places. It didn't seem to make a difference that I was a Clan member!
...and I even wore the Clan tartan!

Sounds so illicit... being the member of a 'clan'...
My family lineage is traced to 2 brothers and a sister that moved from Spain to Central America, I don't think there were any left in Spain. No interesting history... no castles.

Scottish clans... not the "bad" kind.
I love tracing family lineage. I have quite a bit of information on 3/4 of my grandparents. My "last" grandmother, who just died in March, was more elusive. I've had a harder time tracing her family background. Ironic, considering she was the grandparent who was alive the longest, and I had so many more opportunities to talk with her about her family history.

Yep. Those are the Houses. Or Castles...

I have also been to my *insert family name* Castle in County Tipperary. I've traced my father's Irish family back to the early 1700's; my father's British family to the 1400's (Isle of Jersey and France); my mothers family on mothers side to 1600's France and fathers family back to the 1600's Canada (French/Native American). It was fascinating to find that with an Irish surname I am actually 3/4 French.

The 'White One' is available for weddings and private events.
Had I ever accepted a proposal, it's where I would have gotten married. With my Dad in his formal kilt.
(But, I never said 'yes'...silly, independent me...)
