I don't know when I've seen a movie in which the background music was more intrusive--every action sequence had to be punctuated by a bongo drummer on crystal meth.
As for the movie itself, it's basically a super-episode of "CSI: Antarctica", with some clever twists, pulse-pounding moments, and ravishing scenery (it was actually shot in Canada). Since it's a Joel Silver production, though, the first scene (after the prologue and title card) consists of Kate Beckinsale arriving at an army base in Antarctica, disrobing, and taking a completely gratuitous shower.
I ask in all honesty/What would life be?/Without a song and a dance, what are we?/So I say "Thank you for the music/For giving it to me."
