Oh yes, thank goodness I am. I'm sure I'm overreacting, but still.
No, you are not overreacting. That can be a very frightening experience. Take a hot shower, get into some soft jammies and hug a teddy bear.

We live in cities and we assume that we will not be a victim of bad acts.
Never assume.
Thanks guys. I just needed that bit of support, I guess. I kind of wanted to call my Mom, but she'd freak out WAY worse than me.
Well, you know where to find a hug when you need one. Right here.
Oh, if I could only fly to Australia.

Gh, you are correct. Be aware of your environment. I hate parking lots - so dangerous with kids! C9 know to grab my hand even if the lot is empty!
You could always come to NJ. Pebbles will keep you safe and warm! :)
I try to keep aware. I turned around to face this guy because I can then identify him (if God Forbid anything should have happened). I read somewhere ages ago that if you face the person and have them know that you can see them and identify and recognize them, the risk of an attack goes down.
I could be wrong.
I'm buying mace tomorrow.
Sweetie, we have the same problems associated with cities everywhere.
It doesn't matter how you try to legislate, you can't change human nature. You can't change the fact that some people become addicted to substances they shouldn't. They will do anything for that fix. And, unfortunately, you can't ensure that people who do require medication for mental illnesses, will take it.

MT, bad things happen everywhere!
So, what are the positive things? Mrs. Brd called me this morning after an audition, she was in the Loop and I met her at AT Loft, we met, she shopped and then had lunch, much fun!
Tink -- *hugs*
I need a puppy. Not for protection, but for unconditional love. You know those studies that show elderly people who have plants live longer because they take care of something? I need something to take care of.
Brd -- that sounds like a lovely afternoon.
Sound good, brd.
So, is that closer being traded from Chicago as we speak?
Shira, you are safe with us.
I had some awful things like that happen to me in NYC--things I will never forget. But it doesn't change who you are and you will regain your strength and know that again.
If you feel like calling your mom, you should. I'm sure she will want to comfort and support you...in a way that only a mom can.
Sorry, honey.
Thanks Miss P. Thanks guys. I appreciate it.
I'm off to bed and curling up with a stuffed animal. G'night y'all.

Mp, you just showed the difference between a mother and father!
Teddy bears help. Mothers help more.
I had the best mom in the world. She was a wonderful mother and a wonderful friend. I miss her every day.

Mp, your mother tought you and others to be givers of love! My mother will be her soon!
Tonight was supposed to finally be my night alone (aka free of mom duty & sleep in my own bed), but she is having a bad night. At least I convinced her to come here, so I can at least sleep in my bed. Being alone was nice while it lasted, lol! All in a days work.
My Dad was a special person too. He taught me more about how to treat others even when we, ourselves, are suffering or hurt. He is someone I will always look up to with love, respect and gratitude. He was also my friend, and I miss him every day as well.
HE'S THE GUY WHO MADE ME LOVE BROADWAY SHOWS!!!! If it weren't for him, I would never have met you guys!!!
A BWW with no Miss P would have been our loss.
Oh, Hep. You're sweet. I want you to know I was actually thinking of you tonight at Starina's concert where they sang all the songs from YOU'RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN and acted out a little dialogue. The girl playing you (aka LUCY) wound up not being there, so the music teacher had to play Lucy. He was no able to capture the essence of Lucy Van Pelt as I am sure you could. (Although I do believe he enjoys being a girl, if you get my drift.)
