Whoa Brd. That's intense for you!

Please, ladies - haven't you been here when brd's teen is being . . . well, a teen?

DG, I think it is reference to my delinquent staff. The mouse secretary is out sick and the one catching her work is pissed.
How is the weather out west? We have had nice cool days, but the heat is coming.

Oh, I know brd - they just seemed to be surprised that you could get your dander up - but I'm not
It's absolutely perfect here - 72 degrees, slight breeze and sunny with blue skies
Speaking of which, the break is over and I need to get back to planting!
Take a deep breath, brd - and a LOOOOONG lunch!
It is pretty here today too. Beautiful breeze going on.
I think we'll be lucky if we hit the mid 60s. And rain. And I took the bus today.

DD, you have a short commute? I drove today.
Relatively short. If I drive, it's between 25-35 minutes, unless there's an accident or something on the bridge, then it can be over an hour if I have to go around. By bus it's about 40 minutes.

Mrs. Brd injured her foot and is out of teaching for a month. There are some benefits, no conflicts to take the kids to lessons, camp etc. It is painful, but she is tough (three births with NO pain medication.)
awwww, poor mrs. brd! I hope she feels better!

I do hope that it is a short recovery. Fitness has been a part of her routine for about as long as Shira has been alive!
MT, I totally missed the ending of your last job. What happened?
Right after I returned from my bereavement leave, they let me go. It was kind of a mutual decision, yet not. Then they kind of screwed me around a little bit with unemployment and stuff. Luckily I got it all worked out. It's really an odd situation.

What are you looking for now?
I dunno. I'm not really looking at this exact moment, because i am just trying to focus on getting my mom through everything and setting her all up to be independent. We are going to be house hunting and other things, so we decided it might be easier to just collect unemployment for a few months, get all this taken care of, and then go back to work. Who knows, our goals change daily!

Transitions are difficult. Even this little foot issue threw us for a loop, but we did discuss tonight that minor health issues are nothing compared to what many families endure every day. (like your family)
Our lives will change in 2008 when C13 goes to high school! Yikes!
Yup. There is a family across the street that are like my second family. I have known their girls since Amy was 1 and well since Jordan was born. Amy is graduating 8th grade this year. I saw her last night and she asked if i was coming over on friday and helping her get ready for the 8th grade dance. I cried, lol! And then felt really old! I can't believe she is starting HS in a few months. Scary.

I am a great uncle! I am old!!!!!
I am not an aunt yet at all. Don't know if I ever will be. My brother and Buzz's sister aren't looking hopeful at the moment!

The girls are still up, it will be a long summer.
haha, I miss that. But my dad was a royal pain. I'd stay up until the wee hours of the morning and expect to sleep in, but no, my dad would do everything in his power to annoy me enough when he was leaving for work.

After my senior year of high school I would sleep until 1:00 p.m. That is now only a few hours before a cocktail! Only C9 is up when I go to work in the morning. I asked Mrs. Brd if she would drive me to the L now that she is not working! She said yes!
hehe, and we like cocktail time!!
Well that is good that she will drive you.
I have seen our favorite video SEVERAL times on TV the past few days.

There is actually a chilly wind right now here. I am laying under a blanket (tinkerbell blanket of course)
