Brd, I have tried to meet you plenty of times in Chicago! I have given up on you!
I am seeing 3 shows, one being Grey Gardens. I am SO curious about how it has changed since the Off-Broadway production. Caldwell doesn't care to see it again, but I loved Christine Ebersole in it so much, I would sit through something uneven and iffy just to see her perform the role another time!

You are here when I am busy!
Speaking of which, I was longing for a Wicked lottery today, but I was swamped.
That show has no interest to me whatsoever, let me know what you think!
I have been toying with the idea of going to Chicago to see PQ! My friend who saw it the other night even emailed me to try to prod me to make a special trip. It's not very practical at this time, but I am considering it!
Brd, while you're at Altar Boyz, I will be at the NYC theatre where Altar Boyz is playing. I will think of you and C8!
I didn't think GG was your kind of show, L. I didn't think ACL was either. They both lacked "oomph." But maybe the revised version of GG is different. We'll see. (Or "I'll see," as it were.)
Thanks Miss P!
Brd, you need to do the Wicked lotto in NYC, if you win, you will really feel accomplished because it is very hard!!

We have snow here, I expect it to melt, but 10/12 and there is snow on buildings????
Snow???? Already??
Wow... snowing in the midwest. *sigh*
So you didn't get into ACL that much? That's too bad. It truly changed my life, and continues to do so. I love, love, love that show.
Evita was ok last night. The cast was awesome. My issues were more with the staging... some of it was excellent, but I think the directors were trying SO hard to stay away from the original vision, that they got lost at times.
Sorry you didn't like Evita that much.
ACL was good, just not my style. WS should be more my tastes tonight!
That's the way things go, I guess. I've seen every production of ACL I can, even high school productions. I just LOVE the show. You could not pay me to see WS again.
Ok, you COULD pay me to see it again.
It has changed a lot since Seattle, it's changed a lot since I saw it in previews here the first week.
Are you going to get SRO for ACL when you are here in Dec?
That'll be the only way I can see it. There is no way I'm paying almost $90 to sit in the back of the Mezzanine.
btw, last night we got to go backstage at the theater, and got to hang out with the cast for a bit. The were drinking whiskey and chatting... got to meet a couple of people I've seen around town a lot but had never met.
That's awesome, backstage parties are so fun!
It's always interesting when you meet people after a show. Some are so friendly, and some are just not. And the funny thing is that the ones that are not friendly are the ones you'd least expect to throw attitude.
I think most of the people I have met after a show are pretty friendly, there are very few examples I can think of where someone was just not nice.
A couple were just really dismissive... the rest were very friendly. Got to meet the woman that played Eva (Jennifer Paz). She was great. Lovely, lovely lady. Very talented. (she originated the role of Kim in the First National Tour of "Miss Saigon")
Sounds like a great experience!!

I was at an opening night party about a month ago. The true divas were delightful, but the chorines with all of that fake kissing and "darling" - yuck!!!
All the broadway people I have met while seeing shows in other cities, or on tours, have always been so happy to have fans there.

The stage door at the Palace is in the middle of a loading dock next to the garbage, it is not a pleasant place. And the restaurant and house staff all smoke back there.
That would diminish the ambience somewhat...
A lot of theaters have stagedoors in the middle of nowhere. I remember that alley behind Wicked... And the ones in Boston for ASU were really hard to find!
