Piazza's dvd was released? I didn't know they were going to do that. All I have is the dvr from it was on PBS last year.
Erika - good luck on your show. I love a good challenge!
Having a slow start to the day... which is not good because I have A LOT to do.
I edited my post - sorry to deceive
Good morning, DD!!!!
Afternoon MissP and DD!
Hey all - I got a scare - I hit next page and the thread was gone!
Are we ready for some Oscars?
Yeah, I'll be watching all these gorgeous women with their hair up and their cleavage showing while I freeze in my turtleneck and down blanket!
I'll be watching in my jammies.
E has already started with Jennifer Holiday - at 5:00 she will be singing from the top of the Roosevelt Hotel.
Give it a rest already.
I'll watch if there is nothing else better on. I'm just not an award show person.
I never watch for the awards...it's to see what people are wearing and how boring their acceptance speeches are! (Except, of course, George Clooney's.)
Ditto for me.
Except - I do want Jennifer Hudson to win.
I guess I would be more excited if I had seen ANY of the movies nominated, lol!
I have not really moved from the couch/lap top in quite some time. Man I love being lazy sometimes. Unfortunately, the laundry fairy has not stopped by to take care of the piles of clothes!
Mo, it's way better if you HAVEN'T seen any of the films because then you're not all tense and pissy when your pick doesn't win.
haha, I remember those days when I was younger. It was more for the music awards though!
Hell I remember when "RENT" was supposed to slam the awards shows last season, and I don't think it was ever even nominated, was it?

I keep popping in to E! to try and catch Holliday and see if it's as a big a train-wreck as I think it is - but I can't stomach these E! people.
It is supposedly coming up shortly - she claimed in the last snippet that her voice is better now than it was 25 years ago.
This should be interesting...
I'm simply nonplussed by this years awards!
She is on now.
It'll be on uh, the VOLDEMORT site later. The site that shall not be named.
It will be interesting to see what people think about this!
People always have an opinion.

I think it's the saddest coda to a story arc I've seen in a long time. Standing up there removed, desperately shouting from the roof while people went about their business below paying no attention.
And if she thinks she sounds better now, then we have different opinions.
Sad and pathetic.
DG - and you saw her live so many years ago.
I did not think she was terrible, and who knows how she would sound in a decent room, with decent acoustics, but why would anyone do this?
I think her meds may need a bit of adjusting.
Singing in spite at the Kodak theater. I have images of her waiving a closed fist in spite as if the Kodak theater wronged her somehow.
I didn't watch. There's an L&O SVU marathon on USA.
I organized my notes. And now I'm avoiding my easy 2 page papers. Ha..

YWIW - I think I'm going to stick with the memories from long ago - they're strong enough to overcome this embarrassment. But honestly, I worry about what's going to happen to her now - I can't imagine anyone beating her door down - and she just hasn't come across like someone who can handle that.
