Ummm - why not just ask who is your favorite band?

Because Rock is very different from Punk which is very different from Grunge.

And for the record, I would treat Oasis as a Pop band.

Ps. If you treat Oasis as a pop band, then most bands that are under the category of "rock" are pop bands including The Beatles.

On a side note, I went to a Losers Lounge tribute concert to Queen. It was AWESOME. Michael Cerveris sang Dragon Attack and it was the most incredible thing I've ever seein him do. I *wish* someone had a picture of him from that night. His outfit alone was priceless.

ETA: Poo, I forgot to mention Culture Club! Seriously, don't laugh!

Most bands aren't really good beyond a few tracks, sadly.

The Beatles are the big fat obvious choice, of course.
The Mamas and the Papas

And...in case the whole world didn't know it already, I've been listening to nothing but Ben Folds (Five and solo) for about a month now.

Other than that, Green Day, Nirvana, the Pixies, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs all have their moments.

Nope, ever seen it, Kitz. I just got Ben Folds Live and the Whatever and Ever Amen rerelease. My next goal is the three solo EPs, then hopefully stuff like Songs For Goldfish and The Bens. Oh, and the Special B-Sides EP. I listened to "The Secret Life of Morgan Davis" and I really want the rest of the album.

ETA- Oh! And his track with the other Bens for Wig in a Box. Can you imagine him singing "Wicked Little Town"? Joy. And his "Golden Slumbers" cover. Aaah, I love that song. I listened to nothing but Abbey Road for about 5 weeks in middle school.
