Posted: 11/6/05 at 11:21pmWhy do people have dogs in the city? Three times a day, you have to stop what you're doing to take them out and wait while they wander the streets to find a place to do their business.

Dame, I found the movie borderline torture.
L - $$$$$$$ that is why!

Posted: 11/6/05 at 11:22pmI agree Rath, it's so hard! It's funny how so many stores have doggie bowls outside, and at restaurants there are always dogs at the tables outside, and people bring them into stores and on the bus and subway- they are like children to so many people!

Posted: 11/6/05 at 11:25pmSee, brdlwyr, that makes sense. But in the city? Not so much.
re: Who needs a MOJITO time? (The sequel)#7383
Posted: 11/6/05 at 11:26pmI don't get it either. And in those tiny apartments! Dogs need space.

Posted: 11/6/05 at 11:26pmThe people I interviewed with today have a little poodle, but they also have a huge apartment.

Posted: 11/6/05 at 11:26pmI agree, DAME. I think people with anything bigger than a shih tzu in the city are selfish.

It is freaky to see people walking a large dog in the loop! Gross - poop!
Our dog weighs about 12 pounds.
Dame - what did you have for dinner?

A common misconception is that smaller dogs are better for city living than larger dogs. A lot of the smaller breeds need A LOT more space than some of the larger breeds. Labs/goldens/etc. are actually quite good for city living, as they are quite lazy and wind up sleeping most of the day and a little exercise goes a long way. Some smaller dogs (i.e. Walter Bondi) require a lot more exercise and space.
That said, it is kind'a sad to have a dog in the city unless you live near a park.

What is the temp?
Do you keep kosher in ways other than abstaining from pork?
