Ok, I cracked. Saw Rent this afternoon, and Spelling Bee tonight. (yay lottos!!!)
Rent I thought the cast was very weak sounding overall, it didn't have the usual energy.
Spelling Bee was great, there was a BIG mistake early on that impacted the way everyone acted the rest of the show, but unless you had seen it before, no one could tell. But having me laughing hysterically in the front row the entire time made quite a few cast members comment to me afterwards that they were trying so hard to keep it together and just couldn't. Ah, live theater!!!

That's awesome -- I'm glad you had such a great day, Liotte.
I thought of you when I was at Haru today - had a glass of lychee sake! (And that's it!)

Fun to go down there and hang out with old friends. I too caught up with an old friend tonight (she came to SB with me), I need to see my friends more often.
I am donating blood tomorrow, haven't done that in over a year. I should do that more often too.
*sigh* I have such ambitions in life.

As for ambitions in life...*sigh* right now mine is to have fun!
(Oh good lord, I'm turning into a 20-year-old...)

Just got back from "Hairspray." Keala Settle was great as Tracy. I loved the chemistry between Tracy and Link--but thought the Penny-Seaweed was even better. Really grand tonite.
Edna and Wilbur's duet "You Are Timeless" was a showstopper and when Edna cracked up Wilbur (so bad JM just covered his face and laughted) the whole theater broke up. It was priceless.
There were subs for Velma and Inez and both were marvelous.
In all, a fun, fun evening! Can't Stop the Beat!
