Age is a state of mind.
I'm still old.
But, I don't count. I just make the years count...

Giacomo Puccini is among opera's best-loved composers
So true, my wife's grandfather was an opera singer in England and his favorite role was Rodolfo in La Bohème.
Oh, they are all so beautiful!
And such a joy to sing.

I want to tackle Nessun Dorma some day. I just do not have the time to study seriously and I cannot budget lessons for me when I need to pay for flute, drums, etc.
It's a dream to sing.
A friend of mine is studying voice again after letting it go for a few years, and has been accepted at Julliard and Manhattan School of Music to study voice again. I'm so thrilled for him that he's devoting himself to it!
Good evening fellow Mojitans

Hey Kansas, how is the north?
Addy, when I win the lottery I will enter music school as a freshman!
KANSAS!
*another big hug*
brd, wouldn't it be wonderful?
I'm still pondering going back to school. It might have to wait a year or so right now. Got other priorities in the near future.
Hugs all around
The north is unusually mild for January - not that I'm complaining.
It's mild in NYC, also. I'm enjoying it...
Any curling lately?
DD, there are a couple of things I'd love to go back to school for... I just have to decide if I want to make the time commitment.

Bonnie and I were just talking about this last night. In college we would do a directing scene without reading the entire play. Such a waste on youth. We would die to go back now.
When Kansas arrives it reminds me of the early days of the original Mojito thread.

And C - where is K and DAME????
There are some parts of college I would love to do again.... the luxury of a liberal arts education. I made the most of mine. I LOVED my classes.
Kansas always reminds me of the One Word thread.
I loved writing term papers...
Hugs to cookie. Was curling tonight. After a slump I think I have my curling mojo back.
I'm sad I missed out on the original college experience. Oh well...
I'm on the same boat, Addy. If I manage to re-invent my current career, I just might do that and save myself A LOT of money.
That's a good thing, Kansas.

I did take the liberal arts aspect seriously. I also had very good grades, but I think that Kant and Sartre would be much better understood now. We had a great class that we took together called "War and Peace" tought by a hotshot professor. I think we took three classes together.
Hors d'ouvres?
Curling? What part of Canada are you from?
