re: Who needs a MOJITO time? (The sequel)

Anymore there are SO many movies I have to see it's not even funny.

Liotte, here's a suggestion for you: The Women. It's a classic, but it's fantastic. Very witty. For me it dies for about 20 minutes in the middle (the whole NV thing is boring) but it's one of my favourite films of all time. Just sayin'. And I think you'd enjoy it.

I've never even heard of it...

Last weekend I rented 2 movies on the recommendation of someone else and wasn't a huge fan of either one.
Not to discount your tastes at all, now I'm just hesitant!

But, that's the point of renting/seeing movies; some you like, some you don't. Right? I've rented/seen so many movies others have liked that I haven't, and I've liked so many movies others have hated. But at least you've seen them. re: Who needs a MOJITO time? (The sequel)

Let's see... about The Women, it IS kind'a talky in the way those 1930's movies were. But it's so SMART. I don't know, I think it's brilliant. One of my best friends was VERY reluctant to see it because he's not a huge fan of classics, and he wound up watching it over and over again. Oh... and you will then understand jungle red's screen name.

If you don't want to watch the old classic version you can always rent the PBS version starring Cynthia Nixon, Rue Mclanahan, and Jennifer Tilly. It is pretty good and was filmed at the American Airlines theater.

I was just throwing a suggestion of a movie that, based on what I know about you from the board, I think you would enjoy.

Ultimately, you're the one sitting at home watching it.

I know. Rent some gay porno and invite Shira over and make mojitos.

I've always heard that straight girls like watching gay porno. Is that true?

btw, DAME, I had no idea there was a PBS version of The Women. I'm gonna have to check it out myself.

Thanks DD, I'll look for it later and decide then if I want to rent it. (I looked for All About Eve when DAME suggested it, not my fault the video store didn't carry it).

I think I'll pass on the gay porno idea, thanks though!

Yes.. it was the revival that was done 3 years ago. They aired it on Great Performances. jennifer Coolidge is also in it and is a riot.

I also reccomend renting season 1 of Lost if you haven't seen it. It is riveting.

I'm gonna have to buy tapes (I know, I know, Tivo) because I'm going to miss all the series' premieres. Ok, the only two that I care for: Desperate Housewives and Lost.

*hangs head in shame*

Been traveling and spending money on other things dear. And now my freelance graphic design is taking off too, and I need to invest in a new computer. TV is just not that big a deal for me.

Well, yeah. I have one on my computer at work too. I thought you meant one of those to record tv instead of tapes.

Oh honey...now you can buy cheap software that lets you hook up your tv reception to your computer and record things that way. If you have tivo it comes for free with their home media option. If you don't.. go to best buy and I believe you can pick it up for about $39.00

Dame, I love your signature and DD's as well. I have scheduled an appointment for tonight - we will see if the doctor can stay awake past 10.

90 minutes to return from the northern suburbs, then there was a parade in the Loop. grrrrr

I believe that it was a Mexican Independence Parade. I am all for Mexico and Independence, but please do not block Randolph Street on at Friday afternoon.
