Never discuss one Diva with another--even if they ask. They're never really interested.
That depends on what you're discussing. I know a lot of divas who will listen intently if you have dirt on another.
Ahh...dirt. That's another story! Gossip is a social lubricant, especially the kind that is dishy without being mean. There's an art to the kind of gossip that makes the listener think, "I hope he makes ME sound that exciting!"
But I can never talk dirt about one diva I work with to another I work with. It would make me suspect, as if I might do the same behind HER back!
We call it "diva-wrangling."
Unless, of course, it happens to be a good looking young man. Then I say good morning
Brava, Nina! Brava
Good rules, by the way...
How's the back, DAME? Hope you're feeling lots better!
Hope your back is doing better DAme
Oh, Dame. I hope that back will behave itself very soon. There are few things worse than back pain. I really feel for you.
hello, your Oz-ness. can I interest you in a mojito?
I am always interested, Cookie. Thank you.
Thanks for your get well wishes everyone. No mojitos for me. I am taking pain killers. I do have a severe pinched nerve (we think). They took a mri today and I wil hopefully know more tomorrow.. So I am home hanging out. My assistant brought some work home for me but my wonderful boss is coming by with dinner tonight and he told me to just relax.. that work will be waiting when I get back to the office and to just take care of myself now. ( I have the best boss. I am so lucky.) ( I just ordered myself a box of chocolates from Marshal Fields.. LOVE THEM)
glad to hear you're feeling okay DAME. Hopefully, they'll find out more tomorrow and that it's not as bas as it sounds....

Good evening GH, K, C, S, PJ,Dame and all.
Dame - hope that your test was not too traumatic. Loud?
Good call on Marshall Fields. They are considering a name change with the recent purchase. Frangos were prepared at the State Street store for decades until recently. However, the candy department remains outstanding. I love that store as noted many pages ago.
I will admit that I poured a Bombay after work and singing with the organ (keyboard instrument.)
When I was a very young thing, I had the great good fortune to be taken around the State Street store by a friend of an Uncle of mine. That friend was the Managing Director of Marshall Fields at the time. The highlight, of course, was the chocolate factory. To see an ocean of chocolate being poured from huge copper kettles was such a delight. I will always equate Chicago with my Uncle Jim and with that chocolatey afternoon.
I love that Marshall Fields. Is it true Target has bought it?
Evening all. What a way to spend the night. I am purging a ton pf clothes. What ever my daughters don't snarf up will be going off to the Salvation Army.
Dame hon, I do hope you are feeling better. Back pain is a killer. Take it real easy and becareful tossing back those mojitos.
MMMMM........ mojitos.............
Thanks Mominator. How is your daughter doing? Anyone heard from Addy?
DAME... good to see you here.
Mojitos sound good right now...
I thought Frango's were originally from an old Seattle store called Fredrick and Nelson that went under in the early 90's, and then Federated, I think, who owns The Bon-Marche (now Macy's) bought it. (I don't know this very well since I'm a transplant and it all happened before my move)
Hey Dame!! Both my daughters are doing well. Big news this week is that my son just got his Air Force tests back and he'll be getting a $15,000 scholarship!!
Anna, he husband and the baby are all doing awesome, as is Erin. Erin at the moment is in the midst of her final for the term and is looking forward to a few days off. She is at the moment sorting through college stuff.

El Tico:
I found this:
Marshall Field's acquired both Frederick and Nelson and Frango Mints in 1929, and Chicago residents and visitors discovered this creamy chocolate delight at the Marshall Field's confectionery department. Shopping at Field's, lingering over lunch in the Walnut Room, and buying delectable Frango Mints became a part of the Marshall Field's—and Chicago—experience.
Also, Dame Target bought MF years ago. Target sold MF to May and now May and Federated have merged. (I think)
Mom - great news for your family. I am home tonight with the boy and the girls have a recital. (drums and flute).
