Oh, Addy saw shows? Awesome - Dame, are you seeing "King and I"?
Shira,
It just does not interest me. I have seen it so many times before . Plus.. whenever these family friendly shows come to the pantages I am always unfortunate to get stuck there the night all the school buses are there.
Ah, I see. I didn't plan on going at all, but I'll be shooting arrivals and such, so I'll probably see the show anyhow, at least I hope so - that way I can see a show after trekking to Hollywood in rush hour traffic.
I hope there's no schoolbuses!

Well, look what the cat dragged in, how are you Dame??
Is this the Sandy Duncan revival? My wife and oldest saw it and they enjoyed it. Is this a Clear Channel package similiar to Broadway in Chicago?

What are you shooting arrivals for? Also; I think goldstarevents.com has discount tickets for it if you are interested. ( you probaly can get in for free)
I'm shooting the arrivals to the opening of the "King and I". Hence, maybe I'll see the show. Otherwise, yeah, I'll pick up a discount ticket somewhere along the line.
brdlwyr, the revival is with Stefanie Powers.
Hi brdlwyr,
Yes it is the same production you saw with Sandy Duncan. Except Stephanie Powers isin it now. How are you?
Hi
Just got home from rehearsal and am having the dinner of champions: a slice of pizza and a pepsi.
Isn't the dinner of champions pizza and beer? (But hey, Pepsi works too)

mmm...a beer would hit the spot!
But, I still have work to do tonight (am just winding down here), so I need to keep my wits about me.
I LOVE an ice cold beer on a hot summer day!

Hey Addy, Shira and Dame:
Dame - doing well - watching the basketball game and Illinois is getting smoked. Spent the last 20 with the youngest - he does not fell well. (if you look back this is not my first in that regard.)
Did the shoot go well last week?? What about the couch? I used Resolve this a.m. (sick dog)
Addy - train or car from CH to home? Just curious as to how people travel.
The couch is fine. It all came off. The back is tender but ok. The shoot was a pain in the ass. I hope your son feels better.
Addy;
How was Chitty?
brdlwyr - I took the bus.
Dame - I'll go find the review I posted on another thread and post it here... be right back.
And brdlwyr
I am still interested in reading your thoughts on safe on line posting
Dame, I'm going to re-post a series of posts from the jack it thread.
First, from Undi:
My infactuation with Raul is in full force.
Too bad he is not in a show worthy of his talent. He does well with his part, but it's not enough of a part to showcase him the way I would like to see him.
ah yeah - and Kevin Cahoon ROCKS!
Then from me:
A big family-friendly spectacle isn't my first choice in theatre, yet the show manages to delight and entertain.
Raul stands out in his part, though I agree that he needs a different type of role to show off his talent. Still, he has a wonderful sense of playfulness on stage.
Raul. Yum.
Kevin Cahoon...creepy! Love him!
Another from me:
My biggest complaint is more with the theatre than with the show - that theatre has terrible acoustics, so the sound wasn't as vibrant as it should have been.
They could tighten up a few of the scenes, but overall it's a nice family-friendly show.
It's Chitty Chitty Bang Bang... the story is odd, but they adapt it nicely to the stage. There are some DULL moments, and there were some scenes which made us laugh (which weren't supposed to be funny...).
The leads are well cast. Especially Erin Dilly who plays Truly Scrumptious. She has a wonderful energy.
The songs (many of which I haven't heard since I was a child) are memorable...I've been humming a bunch of them all morning.
The sets and costumes and make-up are fabulous!
So.. I wont be missing much if I don't put this one on my list?
Not really. Although I did enjoy it.
But, if you have limited time, then see other shows first.

Dame - my first attempts in researching the issue have always led me to issues re: safe posting and chatting for minors rather than adults. An outstanding issue for me is whether posts are discoverable and what are the standards and methods to obtain such information from the hosts (BWW). I will send Rob a PM and see if he will answer the question of whether BWW has received a subpoena or request for information in a criminal or civil matter.
Might be going ther for 4 days at end of April. I want to see Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Who is afraif of Virginia wolf. Spamalot just doe not interest me.
You would have thought that they could have made the Hilton acoustically better... But I guess Drabinsky cut corners when he was running out of $$$...
I adore Erin Dilly...

Dame,
May I ask, do you prefer musicals or "straight" plays?
