Addy - what opera are you seeing? The Ring is on this week at the Lyric - I do not have the fortitude for a five hour evening?
I'm seeing Julie Taymor's production of The Magic Flute at the Met. James Levine is conducting.
Can't WAIT!

Saw that mentioned in the NYT. If I would have tought about it - I could have answered my own question. It was in the Levine story - "I told Boston that April and May is in NY" - something like that.
Exactly. It was in today's NY Times.
I'm singing with Levine in early August. I'm in a group of about 30 who are singing the Verdi Requiem under his baton in the Verbier Music Festival in Verbier Switzerland. He conducts that beautifully.

I did not know you were a mute (signing) - LOL
Oh my, that is wonderful. Is that part of your college singers?(I cannot recall the name)
brdlwyr - good catch on the typo!
The Collegiate Chorale. Named after the Marble Collegiate Church in NY where Robert Shaw founded the group. It has nothing to do with college...a common misconception. And, yes, it's part of that. A small group of us were selected for this program.
Cookie, if I get to wear ribbons...

Addy - I knew that it was not named after a college - I visited the website at the time of your last concert.
Did or do you study voice?
I did study voice. For years. I don't study right now - mostly because I don't have the time.

I had lessons from 14 until 21, but have only had a few since I started law school. I do sing on Sundays, so I do have time with the director, but he really on advises at to style and not technique.
Hi hussys,
I just walked in my house. It is 914 pm , Los Angeles time. I have been up since 6 am and last night I stupidly went out with my buddys and had Martinis in West Hollyood. SO IT WAS ONE OF THOSE DAYS! But I made it through. Off to make some dinner.

Hi Dame.
I don't know why I'm still awake...I was up at 4:30 this morning.
But, I'm wide awake.
Maybe I should have a cup of tea.

I would skip the tea. Do you have any Scotch in the house?
I do! Good idea.
I need a drink. Something fruity and frozen that I can drink by my imaginary beach and 80 degree sunshine please.
Well; I am exhausted but up. Who is around?
just back from the Elvis Costello concert...
El, you still around? How was the concert?
Is anybody still awake and kicking?
