liotte,
You computer probably comes with some sort of anti-virus software. Trend Micro, Norton, there are many that are used. Make sure that one of the first things you do is subscribe the the update program, and update the anti-virus definitions when you first go on line.
You also need to get a firewall (I think often times if you have a physical router it works) to protect you from other people accessing your computer.
There are also some free programs that you can use to detect spyware and other malicious programs that may be installed on your computer third party applications.
Microsoft also has a security component that looks for spyware and viruses. I have been told that it is best to have both a third party service like Norton or Trend Micro in addition to the Microsoft Security application.
Look at what you purchased and the receipt - it probably has info about a anti-virus program.

I was not pleased this morning.
I kept calling him the spawn of satan, and he was still braying away.
The little one just squeaks, so she cannot be heard through the earplugs. But Stoli, fraking braying foghorn.
But, then he finds a way to make up for it.
Hmmm, birthdays, I wonder what I want.
