No, I was thinking of an uninterrupted power supply. It basically provides backup battery if there is a power surge and keeps the computer running so you can shut it down.
That is a lot for a basic power cord. Double ugh.
Liotte, I read he is having surgery tomorrow. And, you could also get an external hard drive. They are pretty cheap these days. I am not sure how big the drive is on your new computer.
