Oh... now I'm hoping he doesn't read this and come at me with his belt. I do know that he's NOT wearing a belt today.

I have to clean the kitchen. C10 helped a little. How old were you all when you had to clean up after dinner?
Liotte really needed this boost to her morale. I'm happy for her.
I'll be in NYC next weekend...can't wait!
I never had to clean the kitchen. I was in charge of the vacum and the trash.

I just helped out as a kid, I do not get it. I know that it is our fault for not demanding more, oh well!
At least your son isn't expecting you to come home from work with a present everyday!
Ever since his birthday, my 4-year-old thinks that he is supposed to keep getting gifts.
y year olds go thru that stage. My nephew did. If you don't give in they will snap out of it.
I had a "talk" with him that began "You're not going to like what I have to say...."
But then the next day a package arrived in the mail from a relative full of presents! I wanted to scream. You can't get mad at people for being kind and generous though.

MP - C8 received $165.00 and gift cards! JFC, he has more money than I do!
This is why I give them "experiences" as gifts...like taking them to Broadway shows.
This year--thanks to Mamie--they got a backstage tour by Greg Jbara, too. I mean, isn't that better than a "toy"????

My kids do appreciate theatre as a gift. (you are making me feel better tonight, I am in a funk) We know someone involved with Wicked here and they did appreciate the recent show and extras!
And, they will not forget their Broadway Wicked trip!
When I think about my childhood, I remember going to the theatre with my parents all the time. I don't remember ANY of my "toys." And I got to see so many great shows that I will NEVER forget, so I try to keep that in mind with my own kids.
I'm happy to be making you feel better. I was in a funk last week, and my friends on the board lifted me out of it, too. Seriously.

(lived in Kansas, no theater!)
This board and mainly this thread lifts me!
It's amazing that there somewhere we can go and be boosted up, isn't it? What ever did people do before the Internet? Drank, I guess.

Oh, I thought these were "virtual mojitos." I didn't realize I was allowed to do both!
I agree with you guys, I don't remember the physical toys I got as a kid, but I do remember the shows, trips, and experiences. Those are things that will be with me forever.
Brd and Miss P, your kids are all very lucky to have such kind, caring, giving parents!
I feel so lucky to have my kids.
You are so adorable, Miss P.
Oh, stop!
I just heard the Galinda "oh stop it stop it stop it" with a little giggle and hair toss there.
It's true, P.
Deal.
You are all absolutely precious.
I don't feel "adorable"...I feel so totally stressed out about the future of my organization that it's making me ill. Sometimes I wish I had been interested in something more "stable" than trying to save the world when I was younger.
But thanks for the compliment, Rath. I don't mean to sound ungrateful. I really do appreciate it!
Litoote!!! How did you like Wedding Singer?
Hi, LG! Nice to see you, too.
