Gibson was born in Peekskill, NY.

The list includes others (Einstein, for example) who were foreign-born, but later became American citizens.

Ugh, Henry Ford. Anti-Semite supreme. Elvis Presley was influential, sure, but heroic? If you have to include an athlete/entertainer, make it Muhammed Ali. At least he stood for something. I wish they'd fit Harriet Tubman and a sufragette in there, but whatever. Clearly, not much perspective went into this.
