re: who would you like to hear sing 'defying gravity'?

Referring to the Christina Aguilera suggestion, I could see her as more of a Queenie in the Wild Party. Since her look now reminds me of Julia Murney in TWP. But, if she gave it a try she'd kick ass singing that song.

I also agree with Heather Headley. Her voice is awesome.

I'd also like to hear Anastacia give it a shot.

But Beyonce? No offense dude, but COME ON. The girl is overrated and can't sing a song without unnessesary melisma, obviously compensating for lack of decent vocal ability.
Her voice just annoys me.

Is there anywhere that has a full version of Raul Esparza singing Defying Gravity?

I don't WANT to live in what they call "a certain way." In the first place I'd be no good at it and besides that I don't want to be identified with any one class of people. I want to live every whichway, among all kinds---and know them---and understand them---and love them---THAT's what I want! - Philip Barry (Holiday)

BroomstickBoy, are you SERIOUS?? Beyoncé is an amazing vocalist. She doesn't NEED all the vocal acrobatics; she is doing that because she puts so much energy and emotion into every song and she is showing it off because she CAN do it. Have you ever seen/heard her stage show? Especially when she doesn't do the vocal tricks, she has a beautiful, pure voice. That's like saying Jennifer Holliday can't sing because she never holds a single note for more than four beats. I have a recording of Beyoncé singing "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the Super Bowl, and although she does a few vocal acrobatics, she sounds fantastic. Maybe you should listen to some more of her (live, especially) and (hopefully) you'll see the light and realize that she is definitely a great vocalist. I would love to her Beyoncé's rendition of "Defying Gravity."

Sorry....Let me rephrase that. This is my opinion, I don't like Beyonce. I think she's overrated and her voice is nothing that special. So I would rather not listen to her sing Defying Gravity. You might, but I wouldn't.

Beyonce = Majorly Overated

Now, in all seriousness, I would love to hear Christina sing "Defying Gravity" along with "Take Me Out Tonight" from RENT. Can you say "HOT!!!" I would also love to hear Flowery, bythesword, and CJR do a trio with "Defying Gravity."

Beyoncé is overrated... I just can't fathom that notion. It is completely beyond my grasp. What the hell does a girl have to do to prove she can sing? Shatter glass?? Wow... I am absolutely baffled. I thought the general consensus was that Beyoncé was a talented singer. What a shame.

My cousin, Danielle Natividad, is the only other person I can hear singing that song besides Idina and Eden...Oh, and Sherie Renee Scott.

Joshua488--I never said she couldn't sing. I just said that she was/is overatted. Give me Kelly over Beyonce any day.

Flowery--And at the end of "Defying Gravity" you three can pose and the song fades into "Shakalaka Baby" and let loose with your sexy-selves. re: who would you like to hear sing 'defying gravity'?

Oh, we are going with dead people? I will say Frank Sinatra then. That man can make any song the best song ever. ALSO, how can I forget Warlow. That last note would SO be milked by Warlow. Lord, how mercy.
