Why Boy George hates Madonna!
This is what I heard:
In 1983 – Boy George was at the height of his short-lived fame and Madonna was at the very early stages of her fame (“Lucky Star” was released).
They were both at a party and Madonna, liking George’s music and his sheer guts, asked to be introduced by a mutual friend.
They were and when Madonna extended a hand George looked at her like she was pond scum and turned his back to her.
Madonna’s friend was stunned and kept apologizing.
Madonna being Madonna, said, “Wait till 2 years from now – then we’ll see”.
Cut to the ‘Who’s that Girl Tour” - a HUGE success – Madonna is the official queen of pop music and the second most famous woman in the world (Princess Diana being Number One).
Boy George on the other hand has seen less than glamorous times, making a spectacle of himself on TV, being arrested on numerous drug charges and being in and out of rehab..
He out of the blue gets an invite and tickets to the hottest concert in London (“Who’s that Girl”) - backstage passes – everything - This is a boon to him because the press and record company had been merciless and cruel to him and having been impossible to deal with on the way up – he was treated like dung on the swift way down…
He goes to the concert. He goes backstage and is introduced to her. He goes on for a bit about her kindness and how wonderful she was.
Madonna stares at him. She says nothing.
She turns on her heel and walks away with a grin on her face.
And that’s called a b***slap!

Now ask me if I care.
Dolly- do you care?
Whatever anyway, Taboo's better than Madonna
lol--what a great story!!!!
DP--then don't click on the thread. I don't believe the thread title said "Hot young boys a third of my age".
That was great voiceanth! Sounds like something I would do if I had the chance.

Why click in it Dolly - you knew it had nothing of interest to you? Lord knows if I saw a Channing thread - I wouldn't click on it!

Boy George, analyze this!
I loved in an interview when Madonna was complaining because her father's favourite singer was Celine Dion.
Boy George's jealousy is palpable. Taboo opened and closed immediately. Madonna's Reinvention Tour sold out across the world.

He's also jealous because he can't do Sirsasana. But I can!
LOL Jerby.
I've been practicing yoga for years, though.
In a word ouch.

God - do you remember that entrance last year ! the screaming!!!
I've heard that story (or a variation of it) from numerous sources, too. Seems Boy George wasn't exactly a model of kindness at the height of his fame (not that Madonna was, either). Does anyone know if he's still on talking terms with Rosie?
So much for being the bigger person. Wasn't the fact that she was a huge superstar enough for her revenge?

No! (wink)Ratty, I'm joking ! Even I thought it was petty..and well...
I don't blame her. But, it is a choice one has to make--do we take our revenge or try to just start fresh with people who were ****s to us?
I think it's a case by case thing. There are people from my past that better never come a calling. But for the most part, I don't even remember if I parted with someone on bad terms. And things and people change, so I often feel you truly can start anew with someone.
But that was Madonna back then. rath, haven't you seen TRUTH OR DARE?
Frankly, I don't see why anyone should be a "bigger person" after a snub like that from Boy George. Surely we all get a rush in PRETTY WOMAN when we see Julia Roberts go back to that expensive boutique and snub them back.

Madonna would not do the same thing now! That's the important thing!
I actually loved Truth or Dare. I still think that the fact that she was a huge superstar would have been enough revenge for me.
I love how she knew she would be that famous. She said she's always known she would make it. I think that's fascinating!
I always thought I'd be famous too though. I think a lot of people feel that way - and a small percentage end up with it.
