She can sing and dance, she has the ability to play madcap, she comes across very well on screen as wealthy (see Tea With Mussolini) and she's a gay icon.
Goth, I was JUST about to post about that about Tea With Mussolini. Cher is (believe it or not) one of the most natural actresses working today.
True but is her voice quality good for the score?

Voice quality doesn't matter on film. They can run her vocals through a computer and make it sound like she's 25 again. They've been doing it with Elton John for years.
LOL! Well I like her acting and of course she wouldn't murder the score the way Lucy did, but I'll just have to see it to get it. :)
PS. One of Lucy's reviews for the movie said: "If the south were to rise again, it would be to lynch Lucy."
singing voice aside (due to smoking all those years) I thought the Lucy version was good. Has anyone heard Lucy sing when she was younger (GORGEOUS voice)
WHAT?????
LOL!!!
Are you sure you're talking about Lucille Ball?
Maybe you're thinking of Lucille Bremmer.

Everyone knew Lucy couldn't sing. The shocker came when she required them to film her by putting cheesecloth over the camera lens in a feeble attempt to make her look younger.
Request to Bea Arthur: Come on. Lucy has passed on. Give us some of the behind the scenes dirt about how you felt while working on this movie.
"But Darling, I'm Your Auntie Mame!" by Richard Tyler Jordan.
Good stories.
LMAO...was Lucy really bad in the movie? I've never seen it.
Rent it. I own it because it's one of those so bad it's brilliant movies.
Cher, right?
If done right; Cher should be fantastic for this.
Do we know who will direct?
