I saw Why Did I Get Married today and loved it. I am a huge fan of Janet Jackson and Jill Scott and thought they both did a great job. While watching the movie, I forgot how these two ladies are superstars in the music business because their acting was so convincing.

Did anyone else see this movie this weekend? If so, what did you think?

Janet Jackson was an actress before she was a music star.

I am not a fan of Tyler Perry at all but thought he did a great job with this movie. I was a fan of Janet Jackson as an actress before she hit it big as a singer having watched Good Times and Fame on a regular basis. I have also seen Ms. Jackson 8 times in concert!

Janet Jackson was never an actress in any serious sense of the word. Who are you trying to kid? Do you think Britney Spears was also an actress? Who else? What other talentless, trashy nothings are you trying to promote, and why?

I think Janet did a serviceable job in this movie and in Poetic Justice. She had work on three series before releasing her first album which means she STARTED as an actress. Also, she's in touch with her sexuality, but I hardly see anything trashy about the woman.

Jill Scott made me happy in this movie(which wasn't difficult because I'm obsessed with the woman), overall I thought it was better than his last few attempts at movies. You couldn't figure out every problem or plot twist from the very beginning of the film his writing and filming is becoming a bit more subtle. I still feel that the movie kept this play turned into a movie feel though. The sets looked a little odd/high school playish, and some of the cinematography was very much like the recording of the play(I was reminded this was a play THEN a movie constantly).

I have NEVER met Cheyenne Jackson. I have never hung out with him in his dressing room, he did not tweet me, he never bought me a beverage, and he mostly certainly didn't tickle me. . .that is all.

One was ONCE a superstar in the music business but the returns have been diminishing on THAT contract for several albums now. And Jill Scott is a minor star in the firmament.
