Billboard Claiming Martin Luther King Was Republican Angers Black Activists in Houston
A jumbo-sized road sign claiming that civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. was a Republican has stirred a religious and political fight in Houston, where a church leader is trying to draw black voters into the GOP.
Are you THAT desperate?!
Wow, is my party THAT desperate? Hmm, I guess in our defense, it makes about as much sense as the "Jesus was a Democrat" or "Jesus was Pro-Choice" bumper stickers... but even so... do Republicans really need to do that in TEXAS????? That just is stupid.
Finally, I agree with you about something.
Republicans in Texas are stupid.
MLK was a Republican.
So was Jesse Helms and Strom Thurmond. All the Democrats have to do is put up a couple of billboards reminding the black community about these racist Republicans and the game will be over.
That's why I love you JAG.

Hell, they don't even have to go back that far, they've got Sessions to point to.
Republicans survive on a variation of the old saw: "you can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time. That's fine with us - we just need to fool enough of the people enough of the time."

I think EVERY politician survives that way, TimesSquare. Look at all the promises the gay community heard during the election of our current president that have yet to be even thought about, not to mention upheld. He certainly played a very good game of "fool enough of the people enough of the time."
Give me some good old Trey Parker/Matt Stone brand of Libertarianism. At least those two are willing to admit that the extremes on BOTH sides suck in a pretty big way.
