On my last day at Ralph's we'd been playing Fish Families for about half an hour. Natalie and the girls were on the linoleum and Ralph started to lead the boys through the school of lady fish. "A swimming motion, a swimming motion! Now! Spread the sperm, spread the sperm! Don't forget that little mother fish there, Patrick, spread the sperm, spread the..."
By the way, these are from the novel...not my demented imagination...those of course, you have to be someone mentally fractured to find them as funny as I do.
"Surely you've heard of the De Gooches. Second wealthiest banking family in the country. FABulous hous...estate in Newport. Well this child is just doing this for a little literary experience. Ah, Agnes!"

Mame: "MR. Babbit - "
Babcock - "COCK!, BabCOCK."
Mame: "Yes".
"Well it was just GHASTLY!" Met with silence. LOVE this movie.

Thanks for the bump, Glebb...I was watching "The Apartment" last night and realized that one of the "buddy boy" execs was indeed Mr. Upson! "Well, when you're from Pittsburgh, you have to do something."

VERA: That Oriental sandman let me fall asleep in my best Chanel!
MAME: He tried to get it off you but you bit him!
MAME: Please, dear, your Auntie Mame is hung.
What a FANTASTIC thread and equally BRILLIANT movie!
Mame (upon being waken up by Patrick) AHHH BATS!
Mame: (To Babcock) Not in front of the B.O.Y!
Agnes: I lived!
And many many more =)
Every time I read this thread title, it makes me smile.
I can't believe the brilliance of Comden & Green sometimes! Truly deserving of their legendary status.
