today is just plain bizarre!

Dressed Up Dead Fawn Left Near Theater

TACOMA, Wash. (May 10) - The police log entry said it all: "Deceased fawn was dressed up like an infant and abandoned at the Pantages" Theater. Why would anyone dress up a dead newborn deer, lay it in a basket and leave it outside an ornate downtown landmark?

"Your guess is as good as mine," said Tom Sayre, a spokesman of The Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County.

The outfit included an infant sleeper and a bib that read, "You think I'm cute? You should see my aunt," Sayre added.

An officer found the fawn Tuesday night, said police spokesman Mark Fulghum.

WOW~ It's like some surrreal performance art! I LOVE it! I hope they are going to leave dressed up animals in theatres across the country!

Sounds like an inside joke. Theatre people will try for decades to get as much mileage out of an inside joke as possible. Especially around those who aren't "in the know".

Whatever the reason, it's pretty gross.

I swear I just read an article a day or two ago about an artist who was dressing up road kill as babies. Her object was to humanize the animals a little and (hopefully) make the speeders and reckless drivers think twice about killing wild animals. I have no idea where she worked. Maybe this is her - or a copy-cat.

No - Wicked is playing at the Pantages in LA - This is Tacoma Washington. I believe this is the theater we are talking about -
