Will the Cowboys win yet again to the redskins...or have the redskins FINALLY had enough?
Apparently not a lot of football fans on this board ...
I think this one is a tossup, bustin. The jury is still out on the Cowboys this year.

they beat my Chargers...I hate Dallas!
I'm more into college football......much more fun with the rivalries, bands, just much more fun to me.
We play #1 USC this week......we're ranked 24h, EEK!
GO DUCKS!

I was in Soldier Field yesterday for the Bears thumping of Detroit. Great game and lots of fun. Very warm, but better than bitter cold.
The Huskers are 3-0, but ranked like 100th in total offense, such a change from the glory days of the 90's.
E - I hate Dallas also.

I'm a diehard Redskins fan -- and even my expectations for them this season are VERY low. Could Gibbs PLEASE find a decent quarterback somewhere?

Good to hear.
brd, a very good customer of mine is a Husker.....I've enjoyed berating her team for the past few years.
Poor Joey, going to Chicago and being mauled by the Bears.....he should have just stayed at Oregon, LOL.......he is still a GOD in Eugene!

Five interceptions and he was basically not effective in any manner. I took my son and what a great game for his first time at the new Soldier Field.

LET'S GO CHIEFS LET'S GO. LET'S GO CHIEFS LET'S GO.
gee, if orton leads da bears to a respectable record (not to far fetched with that d, man keep them away from the women and children) will there be a big ol' controversy when rex "if it's the third week of the season, call me at the hospital" grossman manages to stand upright again?
how 'bout our li'l surprise in steeltown with willy parker havng 272 yards and being 2nd in the league? how much can big ben screw things up if we only let him throw 11 times a game? oh it could be a good year. where's my terrible towel?
margo, i think the 'skins have a better chance with a healthy brunnell than they do with ramsey. ramsey reminds me of mike tomczak and how he never was able to deal with ditka with the bears, "why does he have to yell?" a great back-up who could come in and lead the team for a while but would inevitably turn to sh*t. but they need clinton portis to do more than he does, but will he ever be able to flourish in gibbs' cro-magnon (i say that with affection) offense?
i remember the full building sized joey harrington poster touting him for the heisman that hung in nyc at the start of the 2002 season that became a bit of a joke after the stanford game. 'course, one of his nickname's at oregon was "princess." at least oregon has usc at home, but i doubt it'll make a difference except that more oregonians will be talking about whether reggie bush can take the heisman away from leinart.
lwyr, i know a win's a win, but 7-6 over pitt who just came off losing to ou (that's ohio university, not oklahoma) is not winning callahan any fans out in husker-ville. not that i really mind after the way they screwed solich. they'll be a lucky 8-3 and maybe not even that good.
now for me yearly prayer, please dear god, let the buckeyes get over their aversion to scoring touchdowns on offense.
zone, pray for a d. it's better, but will it hold up?
as far as dallas/skins...when was the last time drew bledsoe actually won a big game? it'll be even tougher for him once lavar introduces him to the turf a few times. gibbs gets his revenge.
and how about the story line of ny giants qb eli manning, raised in new orleans, a hero at ole miss leading his team against his daddy's old team the new orleans saints in a game that had to be moved to nj due to the hurricane? i love football season. i miss sex, but, i love football season.

I am much more of a college football fan as well, though being an alum of Northwestern that is sometimes hard!

Voice...cheers before the game...
Dallas will destroy them this year...The redskins will never learn!
y'know, va, i love tuna, but i hate the 'boys. lingering animosity from the 70's and a really bad memory from '95.
DbillyP, I can understand. When I lived in Chicago way back, I was at the Indiana-Northwestern game when Northwestern finally broke their losing streak.......that must have been like 1983?
Those fans went crazy, tore down the goalpost and it was all so exciting to be there.
and remember it could be worse, you could be an Illinois fan.....
Wow, a football thread!
I dislike both the Cowboys and the Washington team, although I'd like to see both Tuna and Gibbs do well. I doubt I'll watch them though.
The Falcons lost in a sad display Sunday and I'm crazy worried the Vick will be out and they will lose every game left again.
I remain much more of a college fan as well. GO DAWGS, sick em, woff woff woff (We have an off week now though)
Go DUCKS, take USC down!
Oh, please.
My Cowboys are gonna cream the Redskins.
No contest.
EDIT: Well, **** it.

Yes! I'm a lifelong Redskins fan and was taught the rules of football during Gibb's late 80s streak. One of the worst parts about being away at school is not being able to see them play, but it's one game that's on TV here and I was busy.
Redskins' wins are always better when it's against the Cowboys!
I've been a Colts fan ever since I started watching football in fourth grade. I've stayed with them through their dark years, and it's been great to see the turn around. There's a lot of excitement around here with the new stadium being built too. (I am more excited about the economic impact when it comes to conventions admittedly though.) The only undefeated team in the NFL! Woohoo!
Now on the other hand, I go to Ball State. Nothing like being rated the worst football team in Division 1. Of course part of that is due to the fact we suspend our players for buying textbooks for friends with school money, while other schools try to keep their players playing while facing felony charges. If we are going to be the worst team at least we still have integrity.
I seem to have missed this thread when it first went up. That was an AWESOME game.
In my family, the Redskins beating the Cowboys is like Lucifer losing the war against Heaven and being expelled to Hell. XD My excitement about football is really limited to the Redskins winning and the Cowboys losing. I know the basic rules and everything, but it's always more fun watching a Redskins game with my brothers--a tough thing now with them all out of the house and me in college.

I got married (exactly 3 months ago today), and my husband's happiness (partially) depends on the Redskin's winning. So far I've been lucky and didn't have to see him after a loss... that all changed this sunday
This week we're going to be in Kansas when they play the Cheifs...not that we're going to the game, but at least it'll be televised (we live in Balt, so not all the games are televised here). It'll be interesting watching the game with die-hard Cheifs fans. I'm originally from Kansas, I don't know who to root for!!!!
