Hi everyone,
I was just accepted to Williams College (alma mater of both Stephen Sondheim and William Finn) Early-Write. I'm assuming it's because I indicated that I was interested in majoring in theatre and apparently they are looking to bring more attn. to the arts on campus.
I know they just invested like $60 million in the new '62 Center for Theatre and Dance...it's absolutely stunning. You can check it out here: http://www.williams.edu/go/62center/ or here: http://www.tpcworld.com/ports.asp?cat=s&id=185
Does anyone know how the actual department is itself, as well as the theatre/artistic scene on campus? I know it has a reputation as a jock school...and some of the other colleges I've looked at (ie Vassar and Wesleyan) seem to have more notable reputations in terms of their drama departments.
Any input is much appreciated!

Posted: 3/12/06 at 1:39amWilliams is an excellent college but I don't know anything about their theatre program. I do know that Sebastian Arcelus (Wicked, Rent, Good Vibrations, The Full Monty, Womyn in Three) went to Williams but his degree was not in theatre, but in political science. Congratulations, you must be a great student to have been accepted there!
