Lonely loser Satuday night threadjack.

...seriously?

Wow, DD, you just totally made me feel better about myself. Even I haven't done that. Lonely loser Satuday night threadjack. (I did just finish watching a movie involving a high-class hooker and an ass-naked Ryan O'Neal though. Ouch.)

Is it snowing in Seattle, or was KIRO covering elsewhere in Washington?

re: Wilson Heredia on Law & Order

I went to the gym because I've eaten an entire bag of fun size 100 Grand bars BY MYSELF in the past few days. I just bought a new belt, so I wanted to make sure it still fits once I get around to wearing it.

DD, I don't even own a TV. I watched Sports Center at the gym, though. Terrell Owens was suspended, and lots of other football-related stuff happened.

Glad I could be of help, tiffy.

No, it's not snowing in Seattle, but it's dumping big time on the mountains. Early ski season! Whistler opened this weekend, didn't it? I hope to go there in Jan... maybe stop in VCR for a day?

and 100 Grand bars? *gags* I couldn't eat that much if I tried.

Ok, I could, but still...

re: Wilson Heredia on Law & Order

100 Grand bars? Wow, those 8 Reese's Pieces don't seem so bad anymore! How do you get by without a TV?? Who else is going to replace your "real life" friends? (Aside from BWW.)

Yup, Whistler opened today, in fact! I believe Cyprus mountain did as well. Whistler and Blackcomb have some pass discount until November 15 that I saw in the paper. You oughta check it out! And of course you can shall into Vancouver on your way there or back and I'll extend the same hospitality back atcha! (We've got a pretty good theatre season this time 'round - check out www.artsclub.ca and www.vancouverplayhouse.com)

re: Wilson Heredia on Law & Order

Excellent! No way I can get there before the New Year.

And can I just say that I just saw the worst, worst, worst EVER earthquake in a movie (I love disaster films.) Buildings were toppling, blowing up, yet in the inside shots, with all the stuff falling from the ceiling (apparently all buildings in LA are brick), there was a gun fight and everyone had perfect aim, and the plants in the background were completely still.

re: Wilson Heredia on Law & Order

"100 Grand" is the name of the brand. I may be able to eat a bag of them, but definitely wouldn't be able to eat 100!

And my adjustment to life without a TV has been difficult. There's a reason why my post-count has doubled in the past 2 months.

I've actually weened myself to the point where I don't watch it regularly. But it's nice to have for nights like these.

re: Wilson Heredia on Law & Order

Anyone watching SNL right now? (I take it that excludes you, orangeskittles. Are you getting a TV/cable any time soon??)

Ahh, you scared me there with the 100 Grand thing. (I didn't realize how few candy bars Canada has in common with the US - no Sidekicks? Wunderbars? Sour Peaches? Smarties?)

Which movie had the bad earthquake? The Traci Lords one? What did you expect, Star Wars VFX? re: Wilson Heredia on Law & Order When did your play close?

BRB - going to make a sandwich.

re: Wilson Heredia on Law & Order

I'm a TV addict, I was raised on TV. The only other message board I ever posted at was Television Without Pity. I used to watch TV for upwards of 12 hours a day this summer (no job, long story). Now I've gone nearly cold turkey and it's awful.

But disaster movies are the best. And by that, I mean the worst. I had to watch this Discovery Channel TV movie for my geology class last year and assess the scientific validity of it. When a group of geologists attempts to outrun a volcano in their product-placed GMC SUV, you have to laugh.

I love TWOP! I go there religiously! In fact, a major reason I watch any TV is to read the TWOP recaps afterwards! (i.e. America's Next Top Model, Apprentice...I'm so crushed they discontinued the CSI ones)

re: Wilson Heredia on Law & Order

I used to have a tv show I HAD to watch every night. Not anymore. Only follow 2 shows, and even then I don't even tape them if I'm not home. But it happened gradually. Cold turkey would've been tough.

Yeah, the Traci Lords movie. I had to watch to see how bad of a train wreck it would turn out to be. I was actually laughing. It was SO bad.

I saw that Discovery Channel movie. The 'super volcano' movie. It was SO bad and they tried to make into this whole scientific crap.

re: Wilson Heredia on Law & Order

There's the TV down the hall in the lounge that's available, but considering I have to share it with everyone else on the floor, including the guy that watches ESPN all the time, it's just easier to not. I will be getting a TV as soon as I have the money. But I'm too busy spending my money on other stuff that is more urgently needed.

But yeah, I love TWoP. I haven't been going there the past few months because I'm depressed that I don't know what's on TV. I can't even contribute to the commercial thread, because it's too depressing.

Recaps are great, but I usually only read them for those shows that I love to hate. If it's a show I love too much to want to hear criticism, I don't read them. The guy that did the American Idol recaps last season= AMAZING. I wanted to marry him before I found out he was gay. He made me love the ridiculousness of the show in a way I didn't know was possible.

DD, Supervolcano was hilariously bad. I got an A on my paper when I pointed out that geologists wouldn't be able to afford the Star Wars-esque 3D technology they had in the movie.

Blame BSo.

Okay, serious question guys. PBJ&jelly or a Pizza Pop? I could go either way.

Which shows do you follow, DD?

OMG! Your comment about making yourself a sandwich made me hungry and I am currently eating a PB&J. re: Wilson Heredia on Law & Order

I only follow Lost and Desperate Housewives, though I've only really seen the first episode of DH and the last one of Lost. Go figure... I guess I'm not really 'following', am I?

re: Wilson Heredia on Law & Order

I used to watch Arrested Development, Desperate Housewives, Alias, Law & Order and Law & Order SVU. That was just the stuff I HAD to watch, but cable channels are addictive. I got very into the Real World Philadelphia last year too.

And I'm off for the night. Sorry to leave y'all hanging but I'm on the East Coast! And I need to get to sleep before the drunken hoards come back.

re: Wilson Heredia on Law & Order

Who's the recapper for AI? Is it Jacob? He's recapping Apprentice right now and he's such a gas! I was actually going to start a TWOP appreciation thread at some point, but thought there would be little interest. TWOP's only interesting if you've seen the episode that's being recapped because you totally get where they're coming from, otherwise it's all left to your imagination. How are you loving/hating dorm life? Are you on the west coast?? Otherwise it's getting late for you!!

Take Walter to the potty, DD! How's the apartment hunting going?

PB&J it is. Washed down with heated chocolate milk. BRB.

(BTW, I only started watching Lost at the season finale and was so hooked but I don't want to start watching season 2 until I've caught up on my season 1 DVDs. Have you found that DH and Lost's sophomore seasons have slumped compared to last year?)

ETA: I guess your last post just answered my question! Get some sleep. (You're totally missing out by not following SVU this season. L&O is just meh for me now - Fontana doesn't do it for me - but SVU has been really fantastic!)

Do you mean Farina? re: Wilson Heredia on Law & Order

I used to be addicted to L&O... got tired of all the cop shows, though.

Apt. hunting is on hold. Worked things out with the roomie and I'm staying until the end of the lease in May. I wanna do some traveling this spring, and would rather save some money that way.

Anyway, I gotta begin my bedtime ritual... I have to be away from the 'puter for a while before I hit the sack or else I don't sleep well.

re: Wilson Heredia on Law & Order

Yes, Jacob! I love him! His recap of the show where Constantine was voted off is one of the best recaps EVER. Like other recappers and mods and everyone were coming into his "love thread" on the AI boards to compliment him, because it was just so amazing. It was like he accepted Constantine as the scummy creepy guy he loved to hate, so when Constantine left the show, he actually realized he would miss him. It was seriously touching in a way I didn't realize was possible in TWoP recaps.

I love TWoP, but it's so dramatically different from this board, I don't think too many people here would want to go there, you know? The moderation there makes Jose look like a party animal.

NOW I'm off to bed.

re: Wilson Heredia on Law & Order

Where are you travelling in the spring??? I love travel stories/planning! We shall discuss this some other time!

I haven't ventured onto the TWOP forums much - one is enough for me! How over-moderated is it??

Okay, g'night y'all. Gonna pop Notting Hill or Bridget Jones into the DVD player and veg.

*kiss kiss*

(And sorry for the threadjack guys. Wilson Heredia - woohoo!)
