Window Card Frames#1

Can somebody recommend a good online store to purchase frames for window cards that is not super expensive?

If this has been discussed, I'm really sorry.

Thanks!

You can make your own frame from here for much cheaper than $40 (what most stores sell tham at). http://www.framesbymail.com/

I don't know what you consider 'super expensive,' but I get mine on eBay for about $20/each, and I love them.

Go to eBay and search for Hollywood Poster Frames.

Michael's and AC Moore's (the craft stores) also carry frames that are not too $$$

luvtheemcee recommend exactly what I was going to.

The lady who runs Hollywood Poster Frames is Sue Heim and I've had all of my window cards and movie posters framed by her.

She is only opening to the public here in Los Angeles Thurs, Fri and Saturday. The rest of the time she is doing the framing for several studios.

If you buy them in bulk, you get a discount from here. My last order I got about 12 at once.

The really nice thing about her stuff is that you can get UV Non-Glare Plexi Glass and Acid free backing for a fraction of what you'd pay for that at an Aaron Brothers.

She also will do custom size frames at a very affordable rate.

Here is the link to her direct website:

I also recommend checking out her eBay auctions as emcee suggested.

There's also a (non-auction) online store through eBay. re: Window Card Frames

Ah, yeah - it's all auctions when I mention eBay.

I think I actually placed my last order through her eBay store. I want to say that I got 12 Non-Glare UV Plexi for window cards as well as a custom frame for the print of Lauren Molina's Sweeney painting and it was under $300.

That's really quite amazing when you take into consideration the quality. Approx $23 per frame.

Another plug for Sue's work is that her frames are extremely light if you get the Plexi.

If they measure 11x17, then there are frames at Michaels you can buy for $10 a piece (or actually right now they're on sale 30% off). I bought 3 yesterday for the posters from the community theatre shows I've been doing. They're just a very thin plain black frame, but they're very light and look pretty nice. Michaels also had a thicker frame the same size for $30.

I do have another suggestion as well --

I buy the $9.99 black plexi-glass frames at Walmart (roughly 24x18 I think is the size?) The poster is slightly smaller than the frame (you end up with a little more than an inch boarder around the window card) -- but I cut black poster board to place behind it. I use black on all of my posters (so they all match) and they end up looking really nice when framed.

I usually buy them off of www.americanframe.com for around $20 for a 14 X 22, the standard window card size. The shipping is very fast.
