Any chance anyone here had the misfortune of wasting two hours of their life on this movie? There have been very few movies that I have watched with so much confusion. Who on earth thought this would be well-received?
SPOILERS:
Who on EARTH thought that casting Will Smith as Lucifer would ever work? Seriously... flying white horses, time travel, demons, but not enough of any of that to make it interesting. A ridiculous love plot. And the beginning of the film was supposed to be 1916. We meet a kid who is about 8 or so. Then, we jump ahead to 2014 and that kid is now the editor of the New York Times, lives alone, works every day, etc. At 106?! Do actors brains just fall out when they read scripts like this?
Winter's Tale
Spoiler:
I saw this in the theater and the reaction to Will Smith by the crowd was hilarious. Nobody saw that coming. That first scene where Russell Crowe reveals what he really is when he gets angry was the moment I realized this movie was going to be different from the trailer they had been showing.
I think I said, "Are you serious?!" out load when Will Smith showed up.
It's probably impossible to find on this site, but there was a thread from when this came out--I think most people had your reaction... I did read the novel, which is pretty beloved, as a young teenager and remember really getting into it, but I don't have any desire to see the movie...
