Wireless Video Transmitter

Wireless Video Transmitter

Wireless Video Transmitter#1

Posted: 6/6/07 at 2:22pm

My cable TV comes into my living room. I'd like to be able to watch the TV in my bedroom, but, due to various issues, I can't wire my bedroom for cable. Looking online, I found a few wireless transmitters (like the one linked below), but I couldn't find any with reviews and such, so I'm not sure how well they work. Does anyone here use anything like this?
Anyone Use This (or something similar?)

I think if you buy it from a reputable dealer you can always try it and return it. Most wireless technology is not full proof. I imagine that is not going to be perfect. Did you check amazon? I found one on here with a review.

Why can’t you run a cable?

To run cable, I'd have to bring it up into the attic of my apartment (which is actually the top floor of a 100 year old building), then run it back down.... but I'm really not supposed to be cutting into the walls. I could do it, I guess, if I needed to, but I wanted to check out wireless alternatives first.

I actually hadn't checked Amazon, I didn't even think to look there. Looking at some reviews, I think I've found a problem - the interference that a wireless network would provide. Oh well, looks like I'm going to have to run cable.

Thanks, mejusthavingfun!

I had a similar problem. I recently got AT&T's U-verse. Its internet, tv, etc...all over the phone lines. It also has free DVR and HD service with it. I love it. Anyways, when they came to install it they knew I couldn't cut into the walls so they ran it under the carpet. It took them about 15 minutes to do and was really simple. They just pulled it up at the edges and laid it by the tack strip then put it back down. In some places they ran it through the middle of the floor under the carpet (like across halls), but you can't tell at all. That might be an option for you. If they have U-verse there I would check into it because they come in and totally set it up for you and run wires where ever you need them.
