i know of three people who have had the flesh eating bacteria and it is truly horrible... incredibly painful and life threatening..

When I was younger I was helping my mom put compost in our yard and I had a cut on my hand, and ended up getting the bacteria. It sucked!

My Dad got a flesh eating disease while visiting Costa Rica. He had this huge welt on his arm that he refused to get checked out (AND he's a doctor, don't ask me how is brain works...) once we finally convinced him to have it looked at we learned that he had Lesh Meniasis (sp?) and had to have an IV in his arm for twenty days.

Pretty terrifying experience.

That poor woman. I'll be having nightmares tonight for sure.
