Has anyone else heard of these? They are what they sound like, candles with a wick made out of wood. Because the wick is wood, when you burn the candle it makes a crackle sound, very much like a fireplace. I just got one a few weeks ago while visiting a friend in southern IL and it rocks my world, and smells really good! The sound is so soothing. Anyways. Completely random but if you happen to see them buy one, they're totally worth it and last awhile even if you burn them often.
I learned about them from papa last year. They are wonderful!

What's the soot factor? I love scented candles but had to repaint my dining room ceiling because of the soot.
Arre WoodWicks any better?
I don't really see any soot around my place but I've also only had mine for about a month. Maybe once it's done burning completely there will be? But so far so good!

Just to take a precaution: don't place it anywhere higher than a typical dining table. My problems stemmed from burning the candles atop a four shelf bookcase.
And the fact that you still don't have electricity...
