Parade - I love it, but on paper it sounds simply awful.
Grey Gardens - another one I love, but can you imagine the pitch: hey, let's do a musical based on a cult documentarty about 2 reclusive relatives of the Kennedy clan!

A young girl runs away from home, ends up in a strange country, kills the first woman she meets, robs her, runs off to meet a political figure, killing the woman's sister in the process, before fleeing the country completely.
Oh wait...that's The Wizard of Oz.
(Yes, I know, it was also a TV Guide description, but it seemed to fit.)

One about a mother taking her mentally challenged daughter on vacation in Italy.
One where a Shakespeare classic is merges with a bunch of disco-gospel singers and a strobe light.
Wait, both of those are musicals. . . and the second one even one the Tony.
I have NEVER met Cheyenne Jackson. I have never hung out with him in his dressing room, he did not tweet me, he never bought me a beverage, and he mostly certainly didn't tickle me. . .that is all.

I still don't think that Sweeney Todd is a great idea for a musical, but I love it! I haven't gotten around to seeing the movie yet though, but love the original angela lansbury version.
That must have been quite a weird pitch too actually.....
