Per Leonard Maltin's MOVIE AND VIDEO GUIDE: "Flashy but empty-headed movie designed as a showcase for star whose screen charisma is nil. 1 1/2 Stars."
Let's discuss.
uh oh...where's Marquise??
hey... Gene Kelly, Olivia Newton-John, ELOs music??? what's not to love about Xanadu??? well, except that lead actor guy, who has apparently returned to obscurity...
I think that Xanadu it's one of the worsts movies EVER.
But I love it
and Olivia Newton john it's a sexual icon of my childhood!
He's RIGHT ONLINE, Mar--I mean, Addy.
opinions are like @ssholes...everybody's got one.

But some opinions are LARGER than others, Marquise. :)
off-topic for a moment..
M_E - Boobs made me put on a Halloween costume. So, I went with one of my all-time favorite movies
ok - back to Xanadu...
still off-topic... mine is a representation of what my costume would be...
...as opposed to brains?
::wonders if Mary Martin and Ethel Merman ever "got it on" in real life::

I also admire Newton-John's "work" in GREASE. She played an Australian but she's BRITISH--what a "stretch" for her! :)
umm no Mary_Ethel. anyone who is ANYONE knows that ON-J is Australian. She was born in Australia and moved to England at an early age. She's AUSTRALIAN.
:: throws an ON-J bio in M_E's direction ::

Are you implying I have a large brain? THANK You! :)
Marquise,
Per the Internet Movie Database, Newton-John WAS born in Great Britain.
Please see:
http://imdb.com/name/nm0000556/
UNLIKE others (no names please!), I THOROUGHLY CHECK ALL MY FACTS PRIOR TO POSTING.
i stand corrected, she was born in England. one of my better characteristics is to admit when i'm wrong. another one of my better characteristics is to know better not to KNOCK what other people like.
...Oh...so THAT'S why you said Vivien Leigh was a nymphomaniac! It all makes PERFECT SENSE now.
BTW, your comment about Mary Martin and Ethel Merman wasn't exactly a "friendly" one either.
okay, whatver...life's way too short for all this back and forth. i have better things to do with my time. let's just agree to disagree and move on. i'm not in the mood to "entertain" anyone today.
i'm off this thread. have fun.

Okay.
:: Shakes Hands ::
You're a good man, Marquise, and I REALLY mean that.
I'm glad you're here with all of us at BWW.

M.E.
