YEAHHHHH ! GREECE WINS EURO CUP 2004

Ok, guys, I had to share it with you !!! I know Football (Soccer) is not a big thing in the US, but it is huge in Europe (and Latin America)!!! And today, the complete underdog, GREECE, won the European Cup after beating Portugal in the Final !!! You have to understand that our team was considered one of the weakest and imagine that it was the first time we managed to qualify after 1980 !!! But we won ! Greeks tonight are the happiest people on earth ! Right now there are 8 million people on the streets celebrating, crying and feeling enormously proud for our little country !! It was such a huge achievement for such a small country that noone took seriously !!! We showed that when you have guts, unity and passion for your country, even the wildest dream is possible ! Sorry, i am rambling, but you can't understand how important this international triumph feels for us and i wanted to share it with my friends here ! And with the Olympics coming this is definetely Greece's best year in ages !!! Sorry to take some of your time but I am sooooo happy. OMG, WE WON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not a big SOCCER fan myself ! But this is our National Team, it represents our flag and I would stand by my country in any sport !

My sweet jrb !! I knew I'd hear the support and kind wishes of one of my favorite people of the forum !!! You have no idea what it's like here ! Everywhere you look, happy and joyful faces, excitement, lots of happy tears, millions of flags everywhere and a sense of great national pride in EVERYONE, straight, gay, young and old ! Noone has gone to sleep yet and it's early morning ! 11 million people here and almost as many all over the globe, feel that, today is the happiest day of their life !! And not about football only, but about OUR COUNTRY, which proved that a small nation can do miracles !!!!

I'd happily discuss it, if i knew where are you from ! National feelings are always present my dear, especially for countries which have a civilised history of 3000 years (not many out there, are they ?). But huge international successes don't happen often to small countries, so when they do, they are celebrated and enjoyed ! But beeing the angry, bitter person that you are you wouldn't understand joy if it hit you in the face !! I really hope you find happiness, because it's so obvious you don't have any !
