I have just spent 2 days getting my swamp cooler to work, and YEEHAW it does!

it is a major job every fall to close it down, and then right before summer to get it going........yesterday it leaked, and I successfully pluged it........and being one ot the tool and home repair impaired, I am pretty damn proud of myself!

Hm... sounds like something I could use... how portable, if at all, is it? It sounds like something we could use here in the NW, as most places don't have a/c yet it easily reaches high 80's low 90's in the summer... ok, August... but still.

day, you can get small portable ones, but usually swamp coolers are only seen in the desert areas......they don't work in humidity, so the few humid days we get here, I have to use AC.
They are much cheaper to operate than AC.......

Surprisingly, in the summer (ok, August) the NW is not humid. It's quite dry and warm... (I've heard our weather referred to as Mediterranean)
